Why? If something is accepted by society it should be made legal.

Yes. If all parties consent, why not?

I think 2/3rds should be good enough, this is a democracy after all.

I think homosexuals should be allowed to get married but I really have a problem with heterosexuals getting married. In short, I would recognize and allow homosexual marriage and eliminate heterosexual marriage.

Some ideas. I've based my belief in this idea on that these "rights" are very intrinsic and free from tainting by religion or media.
EDIT: Or the state.

I like your list, but I think the marriage one sticks out like a sore thumb. Do you really put marriage on the same level as being unfearful of murder? In my opinion, basic human rights are more on the lines of the right to congregate, freedom of speech and the right to vote (or contribute to government).
As for the topic, I think homosexuals should be allowed to get married. As others have pointed out, the better question is why in the hell would anyone want to.

I agree. Don't know how to change it though, seeing as this thread is about that specific word.

The right to equality?
The right to live free from discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, etc, etc.?

Uhhh, no. Well, unless you mean all parties involved in a multi-partner wedding. Then sure, go for it.
But the rights of certain people, especially a minority should never be decided upon by a 'majority.'

It was a joke about multi-partner marriages.

How about 1/3 in a minority situation?

Gays should be allowed to do anything straight people can.
Some of my best friends are gay.

Brian Griffin: So what happened?
Stewie Griffin: Well, you wanna know what I learned this week? Being a grown-up sucks. Women, Brian, what a royal pain in the ass. It's like, it's like why can't you just hang out with guys, you know, just live with someone of your own sex, just do what you do with women, but with your buddy. You know wha, why don't guys just do that?
Brian Griffin: They do. It's called being gay.
Stewie Griffin: Oh, is that what gay is? Oh, yeah. I could totally get into that.

I never saw this thread until now.
It's a stupid question in my opinion. Diversity makes us stronger. Absolutely homosexuals should be allowed to marry and adopt in my opinion.
