Just FYI after someone claiming to be a Vancouver Coastal Health IT worker and claiming to have inside knowledge, I was contacted by and spoke with a very nice person from Vancouver Coastal Health.

Privacy issues are serious and have legal implications, so I decided rather than try to sift the thread to instead just remove the thread. I appreciate there was good discussion in amongst the bad and I apologize for removing that.

I've retained the info though for further investigation if warranted.

Normally an explanation for a deleted thread isn't really necessary, but in this case I wanted to explain and share.

This is not an isolated incident, every few months I have to have discussions and/or take actions as a result of people's posts on this forum. I meet some interesting and generally nice people doing so And it makes for great stories.

The reason I share that is sometimes people think "It's just the Internet" or "This is entertaining for me", but there's no separation between the Internet and real life, the Internet is real life with real life repercussions.

I'm glad someone contacted you. I couldn't believe that someone with that information who is a doctor would even attempt to say anything about it on the internet. Doctors are trained about privacy issues and are well aware about law suits that could come out from information being leaked so I'm thinking that guy was a phony.

Maybe him and The_Flame like playing doctors on the internet.

Lol they got it by asking me for it, they emailed us first at our general email address and I gave them a # to call me at if they wanted to.
