Foothills, west of Calgary. On my way to Naramata in the Okanagan. One of the best vacations I've had.

I'm not really sure what I consider home and what I consider travel anymore. What started off as travel five years ago has become more than that over time. In some ways it's my yearly trips home that are more travel for me than anything.

In terms of pure touristing travel though, this wat at Angkor is one of my most magical travel memories. I was just in awe of that place. I felt like I had slipped into a Duck Tales adventure or into the Jungle Book. Like seeing what had only ever existed in childhood imagination and fantasy come true in real life.

This was about 4 years ago now I guess.

This was a family I was staying with in the jungle. Great people - they are dressed up in their finest clothes for Xmas. I was really sick, and the mother made me a drink out of native plants that fixed me right up. The girl made me that necklace as a gift.

That hat was later stolen off my head at a bus stop in Ecuador when I looked out the window. (It is proof that I was a Giants fan way back, and did not jump on the bandwagon last year).

Angkor Wat is one of those places that I recommend to everyone. It is just so different from anywhere else I've ever been in the world. Actually, Cambodia as a whole sticks out in my mind. The insanity of Phnom Penh, the ubiquity of the Cambodian peoples party, road side baskets of bugs and spiders for eating, the mighty Mekong river and the horror of the Khmer Rouge. There is, quite literally, a missing generation in Cambodia that was decimated by the Khmer Rouge. I was also saluted by many small children assuming I was an American G.I. . . . that took me aback.

Its funny, it just looks so much like you right now. You look exactly the same. I dont think I've ever seen you without a cap on.

Don't you hate it when people post random pictures like that with no context?

Please tell me you'r
e both joking. (Vancouver, February 28th, 2010, and that's Iggy about to get his gold medal. I'm pretty sure getbak already knew that. North East Goon's possible sarcasm is less obvious.)
