Brian McGrattan is the only NHL player I've met that I didn't like. So much so that I was embarrassed for the Calgary Flames to be associated with him.
Ronnie Stern, I've met a few times. Back in the day he was trying to flip a few pucks over the glass during warmup for my friend and I (we were young). Dude couldn't get the 2nd puck over the glass. He must've tried a good 5 times before he finally just told us to walk around to the where the benches were and signed pucks for us and talked a bit. Great guy.

Do you think before you speak/post? Or is talking out of your ass the real reason Iginla didn't want to talk to you?

Forgot to mention Mike Bossy. He was at a card show years ago and talked to a bunch of us about his back problems and how it ended his career. Super nice and friendly.

I met Gelinas back in 04 at the Stampede. He signed a poster for me and a bookmark. I unfortunately lost both when we moved but he was nice regardless.

I can rightfully tell you that you're speaking from yours, buddy, but where would it take us? Just ignore my posts if they're that irritating to you.

I've met several NHLers over the years and the nicest man of all was Gretz. I used to work with his girlfriend's brother so got to meet Gretz a few times, and he was always the best.

Met Andre Roy at a charity golf tourney held by the Flames.
What a dip, when he was winding up to take a shot he started flexing his "guns" and kept saying "ready to see this, you ready to see this?!"
Iggy and Connie were by far the nicest, met them there too.

All the guys from Thunder Bay are pretty down to earth and fun guys. Pronger has to be one of the biggest jerks out there, but he's still pretty awesome.

Regehr seemed really nice and layed back when I met him. Maybe it has to do with the environment in which you meet him. I met him in Australia at a hostel bbq during the lockout.
Darryl Sydor was a really nice guy, was lucky enough to party at his cabin in Shuswap a few years back.
Jaffray and Rosehill are good guys as well.

Nicest - Chris Neil and Mattias Ohlund. Both super nice & approachable. Ohlund is a fricken' big boy too. It's deceiving - but he was a tank. Either that, or he was wearing a suit that was 2 sizes too small.
Rudest - Georges Laraque. He seemed really cocky and didn't want to sign autographs for anyone, although the rest of his teammates signed tons.
Nicest Ex NhL'er - Dana Murzyn. Great guy.

It is pretty funny how some people peg a guy as a jerk because he wouldnt enter a big conversation with them at the grocery store. I'm pretty sure I'd start ignoring people too if they kept interrupting every mundane task of my life.

That's true I guess. I met Hull and Gilmour in a public place and it probably isn't fair that I judge Gilmour on one encounter. I was like 10 or 11 and he told my friend and I to eff-off. As an adult, I can kind of understand that he wanted some alone time and all that, but when you are 10, it is pretty upetting. I'm sure Hull didn't really want to talk to us at the time, but he was nice enough to go through the motions and act like a nice guy.
Erskine is kind of a special exception as I am friends with his brother. He's not a typical hockey jock. He was a skate-punk who happened to be good at hockey.
I met Bobby Orr back in Thunder Bay. I worked at a restaurant he went to when he was up there scouting young talent. My boss was friends with him and introduced us.

If you read even a few posts in this thread you would get the idea; people, even these perfect, heavenly celebrities, are not always cheery. Some people had great meetings with some players that others find terrible rude.
If I met you when you were having a bad day, should I judge your entire personality off how you act in a few minutes one day?
Frankly I find it amazing that these guys can constantly small talk and act interested to strangers occasionally, let alone hearing how often some guys (like Iginla) do it. I wouldn't have the patience to deal with entitled clowns like yourself.
Take a second to think.

Hall, Hemsky and Smid were out tonight at a regular party place. They were surprisingly mellow. First time I have seen Hall out acting like man and not a boy.

Briefly ran into Dean Mcammond at a block party once. Quiet guy but entirely open to conversation and signed my friends jersey. Great guy who's career was unfortunately plagued by injury.

I met Sjostrom at North Hill Mall, extremely down to earth and constantly said how much he loved the city. To bad he got traded a few weeks later, one player I've always liked.
