As bad as the song is, the ABC interview makes me like her more. She seems very composed in face of the cruelty the internet spewed her way and the few bars of the anthem shows she can sing better than this silly song demonstrates.

Yep, I was relatively impressed with her in that feature. She's not trying to come across as the next diva. She's a 13 year old having fun and is living it up for as long as this ride will take her.

At the end of the day, the crap that is written all over the internet about her is awful. What did she do, she sings a bad song that is all over the internet. No need to get pissed at her for anythign more than that. It's easy to be big and tough and over dramatic on a message board. At the end of the day, she's just a kid, a real person. People just need to grow up.

Wow...I actually felt for her in that video. The song is horrific and the production value is ridiculously poor but that really isn't her fault.

She seemed like a sweet kid who likes to sing and has dreams of a career. She probably has as much talent as Kesha or Britney Spears but didn't have the production value that they did.

Don't know if you have seen the "un-plugged" version.

Still standing by my assertion it isn't much worse than half the stuff that has been put out as top 40 garbage in the last 20 years.

The video, as it is a very low production value, is kind of comical though. Can't put that on her though, although she does need voice training if she wants to continue on.

This is probably great for the company that makes these. A lot of exposure.

I watched some of the other ones, and this one isn't too bad;

Amazingly formulaic, but if they're covering their production costs with the initial payments from the parents (which seems unlikely if the bill's only a couple thousand beans) then you can easily see how it would only take a couple of moderate successes for the company to strike it rich. Hell, two or three bubblegum hits and everyone involved could be a millionaire.

They'd benefit from a real songwriter though.

As an aside, would anyone be interested in making a CP music video? Could be fun...

^^ It's horrible. The autotune is terrible.

Ugh...my ears.

That Alana girl looks like the same one in the "unplugged" video.

The acoustic version is affirms the fact that autotune or not, her voice sounds like a nasal infection being scraped across a blackboard.

Decent person though, and her rich parents just wanted to spoil her with a music video or whatever.

Now she is famous and in not a such a bad way.

I watched her interview on GMA and honestly, she is handling this like a champ. Kind feel bad for the negative commemts now. The interviewer kept going all Barbara Walters, and trying to upset her with bullying questions. She was just meh about it. Took the nobody is forcing them to listen to it attitude. Really at the end of the day, this is just a 13 year old kid having some fun. Even accordian girl seems to be having fun fun fun with it.

Don't know why everyone is comparing this chick to Justin Bieber... at least Bieber has some kind of vocal talent while this girl is just corny and jailbait.

Jailbait? She is 13 dude, that's sick. Wait at least until she is 14 to consider her jailbait.

C'mon guys. It's been a week, shouldn't it be "Rebecca who" by now?

And the acoustic version was far worse. Same lousy song, same lousy singing, and a room full of grown men acting like this is a great performance piece. Shame!
