Right, but his annual salary of millions isn't better spread out to those worse off?
Nice reasoning.

Some people are saying he went too far with the racist joke ("Snoops Ancestors"), but I've seen jokes about the Holocaust on these roasts and no one has said anything. I'm not saying these roasts don't go too far in general, but I don't think a joke about the holocaust is any more acceptable than one about slavery.
That was a pretty bad roast though. The only one I liked was the roast of Joan Rivers. Oddly, the best roast of Trump was probably Snoops.

Did this loser write his own jokes? It would be funny if he did have writers and they sent him out on a suicide mission.

I'm sure some of the past roasters who don't normally do comedy have some of it written for them. People like Warren Sapp, Brigitte Nielsen, Hulk Hogan, maybe even Snoop. But I have a hard time believing that someone else is writing material for Lampanelli, Ross, Giraldo(rip), Gottfried, Nick Dipaolo etc.
From what I have read, The Situation wrote his own "jokes". It would make sense as to why he was that bad.

I was arguing against his reasoning, not for the counterpoint.
Although you may stand to benefit, food stamps.

Cousin Sal and Simmons implied that they wrote jokes for Jimmy Kimmel on the last BS report but he is a doing a full time talk show so likely has less time for these things than the working comics do but I think it is possible that even some of the comedians have material written for them.

Whoa... I see this thread going way off tracks quick here...
Not to digress, but I just want to say: yes, I do have a problem with this. $7 million is rather disproportionate to the value society derives from his "labour contribution".
It's not a slight on the guy. After all, he does appear very generous with his income!
Puckluck, can you justify his salary? And please, respond thoughtfully. I am not trying to provoke, just curious as to why you would use the example of a multi-million dollar hockey player.

So because Cousin Sal says so, that means it's true?? I'm not saying it isn't true or whatever, just seems like a weird source to use in an argument.
But my main point was in regards to the roast regulars like the ones I listed above. Kimmel hasn't been on in a couple years IIRC. I just can't see Lampenelli paying someone else to write her jokes. Maybe in a collaborative effort....maybe.

He's definitely an attention whore. But that's independent of bombing, which is what he did. Also, the dude has a huge ego, I can pretty much bet that he thought he was going to have them rolling in the aisles.

Weird source?? He is the head writer for the Kimmel show and Simmons used to write for Simmons as well. How is that a bad source? If anyone was going to write jokes for him it would be Cousin Sal.
It was also an off-hand comment not something he was bragging about so why would he lie about it?

I agree that people like Lampenelli, Godfry and Ross probably write their own material but this is almost like a job for them. My point was that bigger comics like Kimmel, Macfarlane etc. (guys that have bigger things than stand-up going on in their lives) might also get writers not just the fish out of water types like Snoop or the Situation.

I can understand defending the concept of 'theres no such thing as bad publicity' but some people dont understand that theres limits to that.
Charlie Sheen losing his brain and a terrible job in a very public forum by this airhead greaseball are not doing themselves any favours.
Unless you think they're just going to be inundated with endless high paying gigs to show up and look like idiots.
They're entertainers, yeah, but they're not the Washington Generals.
