I had a chance to interview Wendel Clark and he was a very nice man. Rather soft spoken actually, but very polite.
Chatted briefly with Mike Keenan a few years ago and found him to be a very thoughtful guy.
Zarley Zalapski and Rick Tabaracci used to come in to the video store I worked at years ago. Both were really cool guys and Tabby's wife was a knock-out.

I've met quite a few players, and by far the nicest was Theo Fleury. Freddie Brathwaite and Jason Weimer are both quite funny. Weimer completely burned Niedermayer with a long series of jokes when I met them.
The only guy that I've met that was somewhat of a dick was Val Bure.

i've met lots of guys...for the most part everyone's been really nice....
there's the encounters at public signings... 'the old timers' where you basically get to say hi and get something signed - everyone's always really nice there, mind you, they're probably getting paid!
then there are the encounters when you actually get to talk to the players...
- mike vernon - back when i was in high school - spent lots of time chatting, signed stuff, got pics taken with him
- paul henderson - super nice, chatted a bunch and signed stuff
- noodles - down right hilarious & super nice
- backlund - very quiet, but really nice, joked around a little
- coach sutter - super funny... told us to not get into trouble becuz he didn't want to get a call from the cops to go bail out a bunch of flames fans (in bc when i met him)
- gm sutter - pretty nice - even cracked a smile
- dixon ward lives across the street from me - he's a cool neighbour - lots of crazy stories of 'back in the day'
- byron dafoe was over at my place this past week - he's super nice. he loved my games room and my kelowna colts jerseys (my men's hockey team). he joked about how i 'also' wear #34... i guess he must have missed the fact that kipper wears 34 - ha! ha! ....oh - and he LOVED my goalie mask - which was pretty cool.
the only goof i've met so far is taylor hall - just really arrogant for a kid that at the time hadn't played 1 minute in the nhl.

I think that Iggy is the best athlete I have ever met! Really class. During the Stanley Cup Finals, we were waiting at the back of the Saddledome waiting to get some autographs, everyone on the Flames team did not even rolled their windows to acknowledge us! But Iggy stopped, went out of his Escalade and signed and chatted with all of us! What a class act!

During the past summer, Iginla, Staios, Ken King and another guy were golfing at the course I work/golf at.
I didnt get a chance to talk to him, however one of my co-workers/friends did and he seemed to really like him after talking for a bit, so I dunno.

I ran into Staios walking out of a Tims as I was heading in, held the door for me. It was right before he was going to return for being injured and he was nice, I wished him well, said hope he is healed up. Nice guy.

Have met many players over the years, stand out great guys have been Shane Doan, Brendan Shanahan, Curtis Joseph, and of course Jarome and Lanny. About the only guy I can recall going out of his way to be difficult, was Phil Housley.

Guess it depends on the situation. My brother did him a favor and Staios was pretty rude to him

Back when I used be a bartender we hosted the Flames Alumni golf tournament. Biggest ass was Fleury, it was a non-smoking clubhouse and he proceeded to light up cigar so I politely asked him to put it out to which he replied "do you know who I am?" as if rules don't apply to him.
One of the nicest guys was Roberts. At the end of the night Colin Patterson was so hammered with bearcat that they had ripped the sleeves off their shirts and were wearing them as toques. Good times and super nice guys.

What did Gretzky do?
My dad once saw him at the Calgary airport and he signed an autograph for my dad, which he gave to me.
Edit - lol just read inside the brackets.

I had some drinks with Brett Sutter at Branleys in Red Deer. I think this was after his first training camp with the Flames. Really nice guy, said my girlfriend reminded him of his high school girlfriend. He was cool to talk to and ended up giving me his training camp ID card which I thought was pretty nice of him. He didn't seem to be looking for trouble or picking fights, was just having a good time.

I also met Chris Osgood and got my picture taken with him and the Stanley Cup at Predator Ridge golf course near Vernon B.C. Can't believe I forgot about that one. He didn't seem to be happy to do it, but he was having trouble standing up straight at the time.

I went to high school with Dany Heatley. He was sort of aloof. Not a total dick, but just not that friendly a guy, sort of cocky. This was before he was drafted. I almost puked on him at a party once, after he had made the NHL. Good times.
