I saw the roast. I always look forward to these, and I sure missed the barbs of Giraldo. Snoop did surprisingly well, an excellent roaster for sure. Seth MacFarlane made a good host. I won't give any of the good stuff away in case some of you are waiting for Saturday.
The Situation was just awful. I think he was there as fodder for the other roasters. They cut out a lot of his routine. For example:
Quote:
"Yo Snoop, what up dawg ... you know you have so much in common with Donald Trump? Trump's ancestors were into real estate ... and your ancestors were considered property."
|
I guess Snoop didn't look too pleased following that gem.

Terrible jokes and delivery are exactly what bombing is. Just because he's getting attention for it doesn't mean he didn't bomb.

He bombed comically. Yeah, yeah, yeah any publicity is good publicity, but this guy is goof and untalented. He bombed.

How is this moron remotely famous? He looks like a tool, talks like a tool, isn't funny, and has the IQ or a something my cat barfed up. Seriously, he shouldn't be famous in any fashion other than as a newspaper headline outlining his prison sentence.
Gaaa... if this is what kids these days look up to or find 'entertaining', I really do have major concerns for our society.

That's probably the funniest part of this whole thing. Despite his attempts to be seen as "super awesome perfect business tycoon and future leader of the free world", Trump's peer group is really comprised of B-level comedians, a cartoon creator, a porn producing (and awesome) rap star, and a moron known for having abs.

I can't help but think that anyone else on the roast would be thinking "God, I actually worked my butt off to get where I am, and this moron is standing up here for doing... what, exactly?"
Famous for being famous. A sad commentary on our society.
I haven't seen the roast, but I don't see how any barbs aimed at this goof could be anything but genuinely mean and cruel. At least I hope that's the case.

Do you think a roast with Trump's actual peers would be entertaining?? Do you wanna see a bunch of business men on stage ripping Trump for his hair? That would be boring as hell.

That was as painful to watch as Dinner for schmucks. Just wanting it to end because you can't believe how much of a failure it is.

I think he means if he is going to act A list, where are his A list buddies during his roast?

If one was looking to make people laugh sure he absolutely bombed. However, as with anyone on that stupid show the only thing he wanted was attention. He didn't care if people laughed or not as long as he made some headlines.

I don't get it. Why are all these B list celebrities "honouring" Trump by attempting to crack jokes about him. Are they actually his friends? What's the occasion? Was it his birthday? Do trump and the Situation go out drinking and picking up chicks on the weekend? Is Trump making a guest appearance on Snoops latest album?
The whole thing is a bit of a farce. As for Trump, I'm sure the guy is a good or even a great business person...but whats comical is that he wants to be a celebrity himself -- even though it kind of makes him look silly in the process. His ego knows no bounds.

I take it you're unfamiliar with past celebrity roasts. Comedy Central has been airing them for the past 10 years or so, but roasts have been around forever.

That may be the first time I've ever heard anybody from that show utter a word (I've sort of been avoiding it). I would donate internal organs to get that show off the air. That was the most painful thing to happen to my brain in a while.

I thought all these roasters had their material written for them. When Hulk Hogan was on, it was clear he didn't come up with any of it and was even embarrassed to say some of it.
Did this loser write his own jokes? It would be funny if he did have writers and they sent him out on a suicide mission.
