Although it may be a little off topic, I have to disagree with this. Though it's not very lady-like at all, depending on the situation, I'm more likely to be willing to fight another girl than try to solve the problem with words. I realize I'm likely an anomaly here, and maybe it's because I grew up with two older brothers, or because I've always been a bit of a tomboy, or maybe deep down I'm just an angry person (though I don't think I am!). It's just that so many girls think that they can get away with saying or doing whatever they feel like (and really, girls can be very cruel) without having to deal with any sort of retaliation simply because they're a girl, and I hate that. I'm by no means some Jersey Shore type of girl that goes out looking for fights, I just have no issue standing up for myself in a confrontational situation. I'm definitely on the side that believes it sometimes takes more than words for someone to learn a lesson.
I say good on FK for standing up for himself. He showed a lot of restraint standing there taking it as long as he did (more than I would have, for sure). SK got what was coming to him. I just hope that that's the end of it, and SK and his friends don't try to jump FK, or come back with weapons or any of that garbage.
It was also nice to see the girl get in there at the end and stop SK's friend from starting something with FK. Good for her. Bystanders are a lot of the problem in bullying situations such as this.

Actually, I think the skinny kid has a higher chance of bringing a weapon and trying to get back at the fat kid.
So many kids with that "can't lose" and "1 up" mentality. I won't be surprised if the skinny kid comes to school with a gun and open fires on the fat kid.

You guys want to watch a good--albeit fictional--story about when bullying goes too far, watch the Flashpoint episode 'Perfect Storm'
Link provided: http://watch.ctv.ca/flashpoint/seaso...rm/#clip251012
Every time I hear about bullying going too far, or a school shooting, I think about this episode and how I would've done the exact same thing if I were in his shoes.

As another skinny asian kid, I was bullied by a fat white kid in junior high who stole my things, slapped my head before exams, locked in me a locker, etc. In highschool however, he somehow became convinced that I was part of a gang (like the fobs/fob killers) and left me alone.

Or maybe life is too precious and too short to put up with that kind of crap, and good on FK for figuring it out early.

who said he should put up with it?
im suggesting watching someone's child get slammed into concrete like that is not something we should be cheering.

Skinny kid needs to choose his field of battle better next time. Maybe the playground with the bits of rubber on the ground.

Normally, I'd agree with you.
But given the circumstances, I'm willing more than happy to make an exception in this particular case.

Not sure I'd go that far, but I don't like seeing the little guy get slammed like that either. My reason isn't because I feel bad for the small kid, it's because I feel bad for how much trouble the bigger kid could have got in. How horrible would he have felt if he broke that kid's back and had to live with that for the rest of his life?
It would have been different if it was the small kid knocking out the bigger kid, or if it were two kids the same size- but it wasn't. It was a giant kid slamming down a little weasel who may have deserved a punch in the mouth, but not a death blow.

I'm just happy that most of the bullies in my junior high and highschool are still working at 7-11, 15 years after we graduated. It's nice that they don't have to travel for highschool reunions, since many still live at home.
I'm glad that little puke got what he deserved. It doesn't matter if he was bigger or smaller than the other kid. If you throw a few punches, you are definitely inviting some to be thrown back at you. Some may see getting power bombed as too harsh, but maybe the dbag will think twice about doing it to someone else. He had a few friends with him too, while the chubby kid had no one. Good on the girl for telling the taller kid to get away.

Dood, he had it coming. He's old enough to take his lumps if he's old enough to pick battles. I don't see how it can be any more black and white than that. He picked the fight, and now he deals with the concequences.
IF FK dropped him on his neck and killed him then we would be having a much more somber debate/thread, but that didn't happen.

Why can't you talk about what actually happened instead of what pretend happened in your imagination?
Oh, and I have a question for you: What would you have advised your son to do if he were in FK's shoes?

sentences have been handed out according to TMZ
Quote:
TMZ spoke with a family member of one of the kids ... who told us the bully was suspended for twenty-one days following the incident and the kid being bullied was suspended for 4 -- since he was violent as well.
We're also told the kid on the receiving end of the vicious body slam did not suffer any serious injuries ... despite the fact he came off the ground with a severe limp.
Sources tell us the kid who was being bullied is handling the media attention surprisingly well -- and is "very happy" he's received so much support.
