Pretty sure viruses give you a cold, not because you get cold.

Being cold can lower your bodys natural immune system.

"The best way to avoid a cold or virus is not to avoid being cold, but instead avoid crowded places and frequently wash your hands. And results from yet another study indicate that those who have a positive outlook and are upbeat are less likely to catch a cold than those who were had a more negative emotional style."

So staying away from negative posters will have a better, more measurable impact on not getting a cold then rocking a tee in march.

It really interests me that people like to argue about this all the time. Colds happen because the immune system is compromised in some way or another, making virus proliferation more possible than under regular circumstances. Cold temperatures decrease basal metabolic rate and simply make it more difficult to do some cellular functions, making cells more prone to viruses, (im not exactly sure why this is, maybe this is because it delays programmed cell death response?). Fatigue will also have a similar effect, along with long-term stress.

EDIT: a strong immune system does not erradicate all of each virus within seconds of system entry, it just makes the response quicker and stronger.

Yay spring time!
It was very awesome beachside in Hawaii today.

Ran nine miles this morning, did some sea kayaking, then had a long swim out to a buoy, nearly knocking heads with a couple of turtles on the surface, sat on a deckchair, looked at my watch under the warming sun and it was only a little after nine am. Wondered what I'd do the rest of the day!!!

Glad spring is finally arriving there. And gladder I'm here.

lol, maybe if you're hypothermic, but if you get a tad chilly because it's cool outside you're not going to have a problem.
