RDR with the Undead Nightmare pack is the best game I have played in the last 12 months.

Not going to lie, I absolutely love Red Dead; I'm one trophy away from Platinum on the PS3. My only complaint is that the online XP you get is very little compared to the required XP to level, making it an enormous grind. My only missing trophy is the 'Max Rank in Multiplayer' one, and it feels like I'm never going to get it
In regards to the Undead Nightmare though, it's really good. I hesitated in picking it up because I thought that they were doing it just because Zombies are the 'in' thing, but I haven't regret it at all. Fantastic add on to Red Dead.

I am also Mid-Mexico and haven't played the game in about 4 months. This thread and the people saying the ending is worth it is the only thing that keeps it on my radar

I can't recall caring as much about a video game character than I did for John Marston.
The only real annoying thing about this game, IMO, was the second stage of dead eye. I hated having it auto paint an area of an enemy I didn't want to shoot.

The ending of the game is worth the "grind" that some people seem to be having.

Love this game and I love the direction Rock Star is going with the new LA Noire.
I'm online a lot with RDR with the undead pack as well if you want to play. PM me and I'll give you my online ID.

I actually remember kinda losing interest a bit during the Mexico missions, I don't know why. I remember just trying to burn through it so I could get back up to the States ASAP. Once you get back up though it picks up again. What until you get to the Blackwater area, and the surrounding Great Plains and Tall Trees area. That was my favourite spot in the whole game, hunting grizzlies is beauty. Gets a little tense sometimes.

I've been playing this game for the past two weeks or so and I am loving it. Such a good game. Probably the best game I have played for the Xbox.

I am working my way through the hunting challenges and the ones where you had to kill cougars and a bear with a knife almost drove me insane. Killing a bear was just hard, but the cougar one almost made me an alcoholic. I had good luck killing the first, but the second one was giving me lots of trouble. Finally killed the second cougar and right after my character was 50 feet above the ground falling to his death. First and only time the game glitched out. It didn't have enough time to register the kill.

I never found this game tedious. I took my time and loved every minute about it. It's all about side missions. I have 100% completion of the game (NERD, I know) and will be keeping the game to play in a year or so. The ending is awesome.

A trick for killing the cougar with a knife: Use your rope and lasso the cougar first. The cougar will shake it off quickly, but it will be stunned momentarily long enough for you to get a few stabs in. I think that also worked with the bear, but I'm not 100% on that.
If you think that one sucks, wait until you play the undead one and have to kill the zombie cougar with a stick of dynamite.

One thing that bummed me out about this game when I was still doing the story mission (especially after reading this thread where a few of you say you were blown away with what happens to Marston Sr) was right when I bought it, I was looking at some Youtube vids of it and in the comments section, the very first comment was some DB who wrote (spoiler) "Marston dies". So I was just waiting for it the whole game, it didn't have quite the same impact on me, which really sucked. Rule #37 why nothing good can come from reading Youtube comments...

I read some hints after I already did it. I think killing a regular cougar with the dynamite is part of unlocking an outfit. Haven't attempted it yet. As soon as I finish off the game I will buying that Nightmare pack for sure.

@Sainters7:
You may want to edit that little tidbit out for those who haven't gotten there yet. You would hate to be the CP version of the YouTube DB.

You realize that you just did what you're complaining about for anyone who's reading this thread prior to finishing the game?

The game has been out for a year, honestly, that isn't a spoiler.
Anyone want to do some undead zombie killing? (waves) I want to get to 15 for the achievement. I've been to 11 but my teammate abandon each othr and get killed.

Yeah anyone that wants to do some online on PS3 pm me and I'll give you my PSN id. Got a long grind until level 50 so doing some Undead killing would sure break the monotony.

Hey I'm white text-friendly (see my post this morning in the Battle: LA thread for further confirmation). I just didn't do it here because if you flip through this thread (even the last couple pages), you'll see the John Marston ending thing has been mentioned a few times. So I figured it was fine.
