LMAO Paladin Security.

So i was driving home tonight on the highway between Calgary and Okotoks when i pull behind this Paladin Security Prius doing 80-90 in the far left lane (fast lane) So i flash my high beams a couple times in case he didnt realize he was driving slow or in the passing lane... nothing, i flash a couple more times and he signals and moves over a lane into the middle lane, as i pass he honks his horn like a banshee. I continue on my way home at 110km/h.

Just got a phone call from the cops, apparently this Security guard called and complained about my driving.... Cop was understanding and i know he was just doing his job but the Security Guard made me LMAO at how petty he was... apparently driving dangerous is better than someone flashing you to pass....

I guess thats why he was a rent a cop and not a real cop.

You'd be surprised how many "heroes" like this are out there, not just security guards, either.

Of course there's legitimate cases where the cops should be called. But sometmes people just feel wronged and want to get you in trouble, instead of calling because they're actually concerned about their's and other's safety.

From personal experience a couple years ago, I was looking for a certain street and had swerved a little bit when I thought I had to turn, but realized it was the wrong road. It was like 1am and there wasn't much traffic. All of a sudden at the next light, some older guy and his wife pull up and roll down their window.

Buddy's smirking in a self-righteous way and says, "just so you know, we've notified the cops. (To his wife) 'Does it smell like liqour in there?'" "Kind of" (as they're straining to look into my car for liqour)

I just laughed and drove off. I doubt they actually called the cops, but still, some people just have to mind their own business.

A few weeks ago I was at the 14th street station reporting an accident. While waiting, I overheard a conversation where a woman called the Police because she had posted something on Facebook that she regretted, and now was afraid the images would make their rounds. What exactly did she expect the Police to do for her?

So it could be worse, but I feel sorry for the person having to answer that phone all day.

Yea ive run into numerous people like this.

There was a guy on my old block who used to drive EVERYONE crazy, you couldnt do anything without him looking at you weird or making a comment.

I remember one time i was driving out of my cul de sac, and the ice had sort of formed a groove in the road where the tires go, i pull off to the side to give him more room and he drove by me shaking his head... I never really got what his deal was.

The fact that the guy who called on me was a Security Guard just confirms so many things i already knew about those types of people... people who think they do no wrong and are always in the right and have the cops on speed-dial because they are gonna "bust everyone"

Yea i have heard about that, if you flash to warn people it can be a ticket.

If you flash to let someone know they are going 30 under the limit in the passing lane than i cant see a ticket.

BTW i have a clean driving record, never had a single ticket.

I saw an episode of Motoring 2010 or some car show on TSN where they discussed this exact ticket. Apparently the cops give you a ticket for alternating lights, which is only against the law because it is supposed to discourage people from imitating sirens. I guess if you flash your highbeams and they give you it, you should be able to get it thrown out.

These morons should try driving in Europe. If they puddle along in the fast lane like that they'd likely be run off the road.

You should call Paladin head office and let them know one of their drivers were driving erratically on the highway between Calgary and Okotoks at "x" time. The least that arse could do is drive like a grandmother in the right lane.

I love guys like that!! I used to work at the Foothills Hospital and one of the security guards there used to wear a bullet proof vest outside of work, drive an old ambulance as his personal vehicle that was filled with first aid supplies and fireman's gear just in case he ever needed to jump into action.

Nothing wrong with reporting a suspected drunk driver. Stopping to confront the person is a mistake though.

People generally have a one-sided view of any incident so who knows what the real story is and based upon this posters previous statements about how he is a jackass while driving (boxing people in and the like) I have a difficult time in thinking that he was merely going the speed limit and that everything is as he states it is. Could the security guard be in the wrong, I guess so. But at the same time could it be a case of an idiot driving his car to fast down a highway at night, flashing his high beams at other people on the road and generally acting like a jackass... it could be that as well.

As for calling in a suspected drunk driver who had been swirving on the road, that is called a civic responsibility and in that case no one should just "mind their own business".

Think what you want but like i said i have a clean driving record with no speeding tickets, no parking tickets... nothing. The truck i drive in the winter has a whopping 160hp... not exactly a rocket, getting it up to 110 is slow never mind speeding and driving erratically.

Not to mentioned those stories of me driving like a jackass were in highschool, before i grew up. Im sure everyone on here drove like a saint with the pope in the back seat when they were 16/17 and in highschool.
