Default JUST ENERGY door to door salesman

Performed a search of the forums and didn't find anything so I figured I'd post this.

http://www.keyframe5.com/just-energy...-this-company/

Had a Just Energy representative come to my door about an hour ago and told me that I "NEED" to show him my utility bills so he can confirm that I have rate protection on my bill.

I asked if he worked for my service provider and he said no, I asked him more than once why he needed to see my billing and he wouldn't answer my questions, he kept telling me that I need to show him my billing and he will wait until I do.

I was very close to physically removing him from my property when I finally told him the billing is in my wife's name and not mine; he then told me he would come back when my wife comes home and left.

This guy was insistent and would not provide me with any credentials which would require me to give him any information.

Looks like this is a scam. If you have one of these people show up at your door I would suggest that you don't give them anything and insist that they leave your property immediately.

The best part about a door to door salesmen is that I operate the door.....

I had something similar happen with APX Security and the guy literally walked into my house to look at my security system, walked past me and was going to help himself into my house, I told him he was about 10 steps away from my gun cabinet and he walked back to the door. I literally just closed the door on him in mid conversation when No Thank You did not work.

Sounds sketchy. I know Direct Energy has door to door salemen that try to sign prosepective customers to contracts. They are always very greasy.

ASk him if he's accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior and if he was willing to attend Camp Jesus this weekend that you would be willing to listen to his energy pitch.

Yes it is a scam. It's being used by various energy resellers.

I have this episode on my PVR. One guy came to the door with this scam so I invited him in and had him watch it. He left without trying to convince me otherwise. I told him he should be ashamed of himself.

A lot of the posters on this forum are pretty savvy and I'm not worrying about them as much as I'm worried about the elderly. If you have elderly parents or grandparent you might want to mention this to them.

Another reason im glad i dont live in the City. That door to door crap always made me nervous.

I wonder what would happen if you came to the door with a gun.... i wonder if you could get in trouble for that... just say you were cleaning it or something.

Had one of these Just Energy door to door fellers come to my door here in Lethbridge on Wednesday night. I quickly questioned him about Just Energy as I hadn't heard of them before, but my alarm bells were ringing because it sounded just like the scam that Direct Energy door to door dorks were trying to perpetrate a few years ago, and just told him I'm not interested. He sucks at his job, because he didn't even try 42 more times to convince me that I'm missing out on a great deal.

These door to door people really bother me with their lies. I've had security systems sales guys tell me that my next door neighbor was broken into a few weeks prior and he caught the people on two of his webcams, but the cops couldn't use the footage because it wasn't footage provided from a security system. He acted surprised that I didn't know about it. I fell for the lie at first, but I still didn't feel that everything was on the level so I got rid of him. After he left I remembered that my neighbor has two dogs... usually a good B&E deterrent. A few days later I asked my neighbor about the break-in and he said "No, they came to my door too and told me that you were burglarized".

Never trust door to door sales people.

When they knock on your door and introduce themselves, look up and down slowly lick your lips invite him in and ask him if he's ever made love to a doberman.

They won't be back.

if im correct Alberta energy savings has changed there name to Just Energy, my dad was suckered into signing a contract 5 years ago and it expired in 2010 finally, and they wanted us to renew but it was with Just energy, the rates was just ridiculous
we were paying 10/gj while floating rate was like 6/gj

Sounds like an Energy drink. Before I opened this thread, I thought they were going door to door selling 24 hour just energy or something.

Had Just Energy guys come to my door a few times here in Ottawa. They wanted me to sign forms or something and wanted to see my bill. This guy couldn't understand that the bill wasn't in my name and that I'm in no position to do anything. He kept on pressuring me to fill out the form and said that I call him when I get in contact with the person who pays that particular bill.

So I took the form wrote some #### on it and then threw it out.

I just tell them that I used to work for ENMAX, and they leave immediately.

Better hope they dont find my door. One thing about life that I almost always enjoy its beratting slimy salespeople and slamming my door in their faces while I laugh. Right or wrong...I'm not sure, but it is definatley one hell of a good time!

They can make up to $1200 a day scamming people like this? That's just crazy and no wonder they try so hard to scam people.

Addella Marketing is the firm that these companies use to try and scam people.

Pretty successful marketing firm but slimy people.

This happened to my mom in Toronto, but they told her they were government mandated and told her she was legally required to show them her utility bills. When she told the guy he was full of garbage, she said he was fairly aggressive, putting his foot in the door so she couldn't close it. She was pretty frightened by it. I imagine intimidation coupled with misinformation works well for them. Pretty scummy all around.
