Yeah judge me because I don't know what "eating crow" means. I'm a university student, my age doesn't matter. Russian is my first language, but feel free to give me a hard time for not knowing a term.

Enjoy being 35 and posting on a forum.

Internet tough guy? At which point?

My question was answered by the first poster, thats all I needed. What I didn't need is people questioning my age.

"eating crow" is not a common phrase, at least not among university students. Only place i've ever seen the phrase was here and i've seen it multiple times.

"Enjoy being 35...."

Tough guy might have been a stretch. But you seemed to be overly offended.

And for what it is worth, you're right, the phrase isn't in the common lexicon of those ages 18-22. However that's because they're out #######izing the English language in ways even I haven't imagined yet. And that's saying something. I'm border line illiterate.

Or the usual suspects mocking an OP for his post. Goes both ways.

Eating crow is definitely a common phrase and known by many university students.

Not surprising that people will question your age if you do not know what it means as it is pretty surprising to most people.

You chose to ignore the part where I said english was not my first language.

My grammar is and accent is non-distinguishable from first language speakers but some phrases and terms I have trouble with. Why people are choosing to give me such a hard time for this I do not know.

How did I choose to ignore that?

I stated that it was a well known phrase, meaning that native english speakers know the phrase.

If you are not a native speaker than that explains why you didn't know it but that isn't an issue when you say that it isn't a common phrase and that most university students don't know it.

That is what I responded to and that is simply untrue.

If your issue is that non-native english speakers don't know it then I have no issue with that but don't say that it isn't common or that university students don't know it because that is untrue and has nothing to do with what language is your native tongue.

35 year olds shouldn't be posting on forums. They are supposed to be out saving lives and having nuclear families and stuff. You all sicken me. Child neglectors. No hobbies are permitted in this country past 30.
