Wedding Reception Venue
Hi,
My sister is planning a wedding reception of about 250 people. I was wondering if anyone might have some advice for cheaper venues in or around Calgary area.
Thanks.
If it matters, the majority of people there will be Muslim.

$10,000 for a reception for 250 is "cheaper"?
Constructively, we had ours at the Big Rock Brewery. We had about 150, and you could have easily fit in another 100 or so. Probably cost about 1/2 your budget.

See, that would have been good information to have beforehand.

Check with the people at the BMO (Roundup) Centre. They have many different options on room size, style, menu, etc.

Not sure if this helps but I served drinks a the triwood community center a couple of times. It's better than you'd think! I don't imagine it's that expensive..

Heritage Park is pricey. There is the Art Gallery of Calgary - beautiful venue.

Thanks for the replies everyone. We'll look into them for sure (and probably shorten the guest list while we're at it).

I realize it's now closed... but that just means it's more exclusive.

In all seriousness, try a golf course. Unless you go to a hoity toity country club the prices won't be too bad.
