That was most definitely a gift from Nani, no clue what he was doing on that one. What a job by Suarez to get that ball too Kuyt though. Totally Speechless that was amazing.
United were really all over us to start the second half though, and if they were able to get a goal or 2 quick, it'd be tough to stay in that one. Once we got the 3rd one though, they were absolutely deflated.
Edit - and Lol Jagger. Brilliant!

Just watched the highlights.
Unforgivable D on the first
Inexplicable Nani on the second
Incredible laziness on the third
Oy. They got what they deserved.

and I know he scored twice today, but he should have killed the game 3 times int he 2nd half
and he has no pace anymore, which was his biggest weapon

and just to make sure that Utd fans feel people only hate that team
Carragher should have been a straight red, not even close to a yellow

No doubt. That was a really bad tackle and deserved red, no question.
I think Nani's flop after Gerrard put his hand on his shoulder and subsequent bawling may have factored into the refs decision to only hand out a yellow.
Raphael should have been red too for his lunge at Lucas.
Happy with the win today to say the least.

Amazing match!
Have United ever conceded a good goal? Whining to the ref after every goal for offside and then continuing to whine at half time. Watching them whine after the third goal was hilarious, granted that was them bitching at each other rather than the refs for a change, other than appealing for the obligatory offside.
Kuyt was not offside, that was just amazing work by Suarez. Suarez had an amazing evening, being directly responsible for two of Kuyt's goals, I cant wait to see what he can do with Carroll.
Nani is such a fairy. He should have been booked for simulation for that, but Van der Sar takes it instead because Nani would have fallen over under the crushing weight of the yellow card. Even the announcers are calling him out for playacting. I didnt know you needed a stretcher to recover from embarrassment.
It is nice to know that we wont have to listen to any of Fergie's inane ranting on the refereeing. This media blackout is a huge blessing for all of us.
Fergie is just being a petulant child and I hope he gets punished for it. The FA is mad at him for constantly ragging on the refs, and now hes likely going to be disciplined for getting his teamsheet in late and ignoring the FA's rule of mandatory pre-match interviews for televised games.
He obviously thinks hes more important than the game and bigger than the FA.
Granted, the Carra challenge is, for my money, a red, and I think the only reason he didnt get a red was because of Nani acting like an idiot, and because maybe the refs are starting to have grudges against United playacting and Fergie's blustering
Further, the announcers were saying that the Rafael challenge was a red as well, I dont agree with that. It could have been a red card, but I think that would have been harsh.
United were down to 10 men in the first half, was Rooney even on the pitch or just on the gamesheet?
Huge credit to Dirk, what a performance, 3 goals and he plays the whole match. Seeing Carroll out there winning headers was great too.
How about Gerrard putting Van der Sar in a firing range and just grazing both his posts? That was awesome!
Happy Birthday Kenny.

Dove in, two feet high. Gerrard was sent off for similar. It should have been red too.
I love how The Kop sang 'happy birthday' to him. That was awesome.

That was wicked. I just got home from watching it a second time. Just as good the second time. It was quite the gash on Nani, but the severity of it takes a hit when he runs up to the ref to complain about it before getting hit by invisible sniper fire.

Point taken. But the manner in which the situation unfolded is quite unusual one must admit.

I can understand that, but in my own humble opinion, the Gerrard red there was unreasonable, and I dont think that what Rafael did warranted a red either.
If the FA wants to worry about precedents then they're going to have to hire a continuity director.

I think hes taken, but that would be a disaster of unprecedented proportions.
Somehow the Detroit Red Wings would win the Premiership.

Ogay, first of all, I'm going to preface this with: I dont want to come across as ragging on United, their fans or anyone else, even Fergie. I just read this little news article and thought it was hilarious. Particularly in the context of Hockey discipline being a gong show.
Ferguson defence to hinge on 'fair.':
Quote:
Ferguson is believed to feel unhappy that the FA have charged him with improper conduct for his comments about Atkinson after United's 2-1 defeat at Chelsea earlier this month, when he claimed the official should never have been appointed because the occasion needed "a fair referee".
ESPNsoccernet has a transcript of the words the FA has taken issue with, and has learned how Ferguson has questioned the FA's interpretation of those words. His own interpretation, he believes, will totally exonerate him.
There are those within the FA who believe Ferguson should not be shown any preferential treatment and should be hit with a hefty fine and lengthy touchline ban. But everything revolves around the use of the word "fair".
The United manager believes his comments have been incorrectly taken out of context and hopes that charges will subsequently be dropped.
"You hope you will get a real strong ref in games like this. It was a major game for the club. You want a fair ref, you know, and you want a strong ref, anyway, and we didn't get that."
Ferguson's argument is that "we didn't get that" refers to a "strong referee" and not "fair".
This is the fifth time in five years that Ferguson has been charged because of comments either to or about a referee - and the United manager already has a suspended two-game touchline ban hanging over him for a previous offense.

Alright, the first thing thats funny to me is the fact that whenever anyone says anything in England that is objected to by anyone, the first thing they do is fall back on 'context.'
I mean, its so standard that you had to know it was coming.
Now, I dont know how anyone else read that comment about the refereeing, I know how I read it. It would be interesting to see the video of how he actually said it. And then the big question, is this contextual contest enough of a dodge to let the FA let him off the hook? I think so.
Either way, the guy has been charged 5 times in 5 years and actually has a ban right now being suspended, so its not like its uncommon for him to complain about refereeing, and its not uncommon to do nothing about it either.

I don't like Fergie much - he whines when clubs tap up his players then does it himself. He complains about refs when things don't go his way but pretends nothing was wrong with Rooney's elbow.
That being said - the refereeing is a talking point EVERY SINGLE WEEK in the EPL. It's beyond annoying.
The sooner the FA tells FIFA to get stuffed and implement their own changes to the game the better. Take a page from the NFL, NHL and the most stubborn of all the MLB. Even Cricket and rugby have instant replay if you want to use local comparisons.
So archaic.
