Just a question, in Season mode (not Dynasty) is it impossible to sign FA's? My roster's full at 45 so I have no room to add on players, but it seems like EVERY team is in the exact same boat. I tried shedding a couple players for just one in return with practically every team in the league to make some room so I could sign someone, but every single team told me they couldn't make the deal because they already have a full roster.
It was unbelieveably frustrating once both my goalies got injured that I wasn't able to sign anyone, despite tons of perfectly capable FA goalies sitting around. My Cup run with Irving was not a success..

I moved out Kris Russell and a 3rd for Kris Letang just last week in Be a GM. Just make sure you only trade picks one year at a time so you leave yourself the ability to fire out offer sheets.
Be a GM mode really needs overhauling.

Odd...I seem to get realistic draft picks (3/4 1st rounders will probably be worth using later, 2/4 of my 2nd rounds, and 1 or 0 of the later ones)...
The RFA system is completely buggered up though. Managed to steal Setoguchi for a ~3 million, 4 year contract.

You can injure goalies? Are you playing the games or simming them...because I've NEVER seen this happen.

Wasn't an easy choice. I've opted to go with FIFA11 instead. Still appreciate the nod to PES!

Just wanted to follow up on this (and didn't think it was new thread worthy).
Been playing FIFA11 this weekend and am VERY pleased. I played the PES 2011 demo and the gameplay is *a little* more enjoyable, however the volume of leagues, players and modes in FIFA11 is incredible.
For beauty: PES
For gameplay: FIFA

Why are you complaining? More virtual Sedins and Keslers to break.

Ya I hadn't either, it was surprising. Bit of an exaggeration on my part, only Kipper was injured. Toskala sucked so I went with Irving & him back and forth.
So nobody knows how to fix the can't sign any FA's thing? I heard NHL11 had some bugs, maybe this is one of them..

Ok, just started playing NHL 11 yesterday, this is my first NHL game since 2k8. First off, why is it so impossible to complete a damn pass?

You may be passing to hard (or too soft). The strength of your pass is dependant on the length of time you hold the pass button down.

Passing is definitely the biggest jump in this game from last year. Definitely takes some getting used to. I love it now though.
Also a late arrival to having this game, just finished my first playoffs. No Sea of Red in the playoffs?? And no Stanley Cup Finals patches? C'mon man. They always had those in the game didn't they?(on the patches front) Love the Stanley Cup/Conn Smythe celebration in the game though, pretty cool.

Patches and a proper C of Red wasn't something featured in the NHL series. I believe patches were in the NHL 2K series though.

Hmm, always been an EA Sports NHL guy, I could've sworn I've seen the patches before. Although maybe I'm getting it confused with Super Bowl patches in Madden.

They (patches) were supposed to be in this year, but some sort of technical mix up forced them to exclude them.
And I haven't played this game enough to finish a full season, but from what I understand the Cup/Conn Smythe celebration hasn't changed in 3 years. I have been playing it a bit more lately (desperate for a hockey fix with the playoff race the way it is) and should be able to win the Cup in the next few days, so I guess I will find out for myself.

It takes a good few weeks to get used to it. Hell, I've had the game since launch and I am still not adjusted to it, mostly because I find it completely stupid and broken but...haha. Slows the game down just way way too much.

The more i play, the more I notice broken sticks and players that fall every 2 minutes for no reason. Very annoying.

Im waiting for NHL 12.
NHL 11 just wasnt a big enough change from 10 to warrant an extra 67 dollars... yea the physics are cool and ECHL etc. But i want a lot of features that could be implemented like face time and more intelligent GM AI and just an overall better game.

Seriously though, how many actual good players exist in Online Team Play?
It boggles my mind how I enter into every game with people who have no idea how to actually play hockey.
Like honestly, I've played with maybe 2 good players in the last 25 games. Everyone else is just beyond terrible or is an a-hole.
These people have 1800 points over there career and they have no idea the fundamentals of hockey, they just chase the puck, don't pass, go off-side.
The online is so broken because the community is so freaking bad.
