I don't think spending money on lottery tickets is a good retirement strategy.

The only way to improve your lottery chances is studying the numbers you picked really hard, give it a good hard think while you are at the lottery station. Because it's not annoying at all and really helps your chances.

There is actually a degree of strategy in choosing lotto numbers. You want your numbers to be unique so that if you win, nobody else has the same numbers and you don't have to split your winnings. So basically, you want to avoid birthdays, 3s, 8s, and any other lucky numbers. Maybe through in some 4s and 13s. Avoid 7s, because people tend to like 7s when making up numbers, often at the expense of 0s and 5s. Or you can assume that whatever thought process you're using to make up numbers, other people are also using, and go with random numbers.

If I won, I'd thank Realtor1 and buy the open house that he gave me the free lottery ticket at.

He'd probably give the people he doesn't like fakes and then berate them if he sees them wearing them.

It's actually 1:85,900,584 60 times.
Lotto puts the odds at 1:28,633,528 because there are three numbers per ticket, they divide the actual odds by three. The odds of one set of numbers hitting are actually 1:85,900,584.
Still fun to play, but I think my odds are pretty low, Moose Jaw has already had a lot of big winners.

Because each lottery draw is an independent event. The previous event has no bearing on future outcomes.
If you flip a coin and get heads 5 times in a row, the odds of getting heads again is still 50/50.

1:85,900,584 times 60 is 60:85,900,584 or 1:1,431,676.40
They are both the same odds, just represented as a different fraction
It’s just like 1:20 is the same as 3:60
There is no difference

But that was not my point. If the odds of one set of numbers matching is 1:85M, having three sets of numbers on one ticket does not not improve your odds to 1:28M. You still have the same odds on each set of numbers, 1:85M, not a 1:28M chance of winning the lotto. Or am I ?

Surely to goodness you'd want to Charlie Sheen it up a while before you got married.
First thing I'd do would be to invest it all into something relatively low-risk so i could live off the interest for the rest of my life. Next I'd transfer to ASU or some other party school in the states and just win for a few years. After that just travel and golf.

It's scary how I've thought through the short-term process if I were to win the jackpot.
Things like: shaving my head and wearing glasses before visiting the WCLC so the pictures they take look nothing like I normally do, having a flight booked immediately after getting the winnings so I don't have to deal with media and (suddenly friendly) family members, etc.

Each ticket has the same chance of winning, but since you have more than one ticket, you have more chances to win
1:85,900,584 + 1:85,900,584 + 1:85,900,584
= 3:85,900,584
=1:28,633,528
So if you have 3 sets of numbers, your chances of winning do increase
