WOW, after all that they have been through.

This feels like one of those WWF screwjobs.

But hey, this game is all about winning it for yourself.

Hiring Rebecca would have created internal competetion within the Trump organization.

Randall was just looking out for himself.

well, not really. When asked before which projects they'd both take, Randall said the Atlantic City job while Rebecca said the Condo project. There's really no competition between the two there. Both would've gotten sweet jobs and done seperate things.

Yeah but if Rebecca did a better job on her project then Randall did on his, then come promotion time Trump may look at Rebecca over Randall.

That was B.S.

That's the worst winner I've ever seen. After trumpeting how much respect he has for Rebecca, and how much he likes her, it should be a no-brainer to try to convince Trump to hire her too.

Didn't want to share the stage I guess.

someone's going to be in the same position anyways, who's going to be hired on their own merits, who can be better than Randall as well. If he has to be looking over his shoulder, he doesn't deserve anything.

He honestly just came across as a Grade A jerk in front of millions of people. He won the title of "The Apprentice"...giving the job to his buddy, someone who he respects (used loosly), is a good move for him as it shows some comraderie (sp), and that he's looking for the best interests of the Trump organization. Now he looks plain selfish.

Trump should've followed his own advice and had a plan B himself. It's seemed like he wanted to hire them both and he should've had something in mind, just in case Randall said no. I'll be tuning out next season. What happened tonight is complete and utter bull****.

Regardless, Rebecca can leave with her head held high. I wish her all the best.

The only part of this season I saw was about 5 min today. in that part, Trump was asking others if Randell was tough enough to handle a dirty NY market. By the sound of things, this guy may have turned out to be an *******, but that's what Trump likes. Trumps an ******* too, so it shouldn't be surprising that he hires someone who is a heartless shrewd competitor like himself.

I didn't bother watching too much of this season. Early on I predicted to my wife that the black dude would win, given that Trump had so far hired two white guys and a white woman. It seemed predictible. That said, it sounds like he did deserve it. As for his selfish act at the end, it actually seems a little unfair of Trump to put him on the spot like that when he's just been announced as the winner. I understand the reasoning for sure but if Trump wanted both he should have hired both himself.

Wel if Randall screwed Rebbeca over good for him. She had no business being in the final two and should have been fired after not bringing Toral into the boardroom when Toral was obviuosly the weak link in the team. I know many here though Rebecca was good and deserved to win but I thought she was so lucky to be in the final two after that huge gaff that she should feel lucky to finish second to the more deserving winner. She didn't deserve second let alone a job from Trump.

Personally it was obvious from the get go Randall was going to win. His victory was guaranteed when Trump in the board room a few weeks ago talked about how disappointed he was in Randall but let him off the hook. In the end while Randall started very strong I don't think he finished strong and I think he actually struggled a bit on a few of the last tasks...I think Rebecca's assessment of him was bang on in that he loses the big picture and tends to miss key elements.

On the other hand while Rebecca had problems I think she was the strongest finisher and the only problem with her last task was simply bowing to Yahoo's wishes which in every episode of the apprentice is always what you do...and if I recall the spokesperson for the charity gave the idea of the brochures his blessing. It was a nitpicky point in the end that they exploited a great degree so Trump could simply hire Randall.

If you look at those episodes you had one truly professional event set up and run by Rebecca that got the blessing of every executive she worked with etc. The second event run by Randall was in all honesty the easier of the two I think and he did an amateurish job. It was about as bad as Tana's from the last season IMO, but atleast Tana had an absolutely huge event to organize compared to these tasks. Based on the last task no doubt Rebecca should have won...overall though it's pretty even so I don't blame Trump hiring Randall at all.

Now for what Randall did at the end. i absolutely agree with him that there should only be one apprentice. While this show may have jumped the shark with the book smarts vs street smarts theme and then Trump's willy nilly firing of multiple contestants it would have truly been over if trump hired both of them as Apprentices. There should only be one "winner". HOWEVER, I lost a lot of respect for Randall because while I agree with his reasoning that perhaps Rebecca isn't ready for an executive position (nor is Randal IMO who doesn't have much more tangible experience as Rebecca just more time spent in lecture halls) He would have come off much better and much wiser by telling Trump something along the lines of "There should only be one apprentice blah blah blah I don't think rebecca is ready for this type of challenge blah blah blah. But Mr. Trump, Rebecca is a truly smart and talented young woman and I think you should include her the trump organization in some manner. You'd be foolish to let this type of talent walk away from the table not a member of your organization." And really he would be. Anyone who hires someone like Rebecca is making a very smart business decision. she is a tremendous business talent and has the ability to lead quite effectively as we saw in the last task. As a new employee of the Trump organization I think Randall failed his first test and failed it miserably by letting a little ego get in the way of his thoughts and getting in the way of bringing in more good talent into the company he now represents. A stupid stupid thing to do by Randall.

In the end when all is said and done and rebecca gets a little more experience under here belt she will far and away outshine Randall.

That was just a bad business decision by Randall.

Aside from working for Trump, there are other ancillary revenues doing promotional work, etc, that goes with being an Apprentice winner.

Randall went from hero to zero in two seconds . . . . the boos tell the story that he might be the new Omarrossa instead of a nice guy.

That decision might cost him a lot of money whereas simply saying yes would have cost him nothing.

Not too bright.

I think Trump was genuinely surprised and had entered the evening prepared to hire both of them just as he had fired up to four at once before.

Apparently the Glaser foundation will be releasing how much money was made based on the VIP donations using the envelopes. Looks like the Donald may not have had all the information. Of course not that he wanted the information as he always wanted to hire Randall from the outset. Rebecca had impressed enough that he wanted to hire her as well though Randall given the choice between smart business decisions and Ego chose Ego and I think it genuinely surprised Trump given Randall had sung Rebecca's praises. He had little choice at that point but to simply accept the decision because it was a live thing with little time left. I'm guessing if it wasn't live 1) Randall may have thought it through and 2) trump would have hired her anyways after continuing to talk it through with everyone. I honestly think George and Caroline were more impressed with Rebecca's performance of late rather than Randall.

Oh well no question rebecca will land on her feet..she may have already have.

Yahoo apparently offered Rebecca an executive position based on her performance for that event.

I totally agree, it was a selfish move. Perhaps it is a glimps of Randall's true character? Just like Cindy from survivor with the car situation- you have to give the others the car or it will cost you and likewise, he would have been smart to have given Rebecca a job. Now instead of talking about how he's won, the focus will on his choice not to let Rebecca succeed also.

I think so too. After Randall made his decision, Caroline's comments were "That's unfortunate" with a really disappointed look on her face.

That's excellent news! I do agree that the Yahoo! portion of her event was simply outstanding.

For Cindy, the game was still on when she made her decision . . . .

For Randall, the game was already over and he'd won. There was no upside to his decision and only downside. A poor decision on his part.

I don't think you can compare the two.

The best part is though, is that now in the eyes of the public and all potential employers, Rebecca is now the winner, and Randal the loser.

Racism played a part in the Apprentice finale say some people:

Agree or disagree?
