Yeah, but let's be honest, most people who use marijuana smoke it. There are the odd few who eat it or vaporize but they're few and far between.

Good thing you don't have a job that drug tests. I hope you're not doing anything professionally that impacts the health and safety of other folks. You are no doubt impaired most of the time.
There's my antecdotal reply.

Most of the time? lol I don't even toke before or when I work, the only time I do it is when I'm off for the night or it's my weekend. The reason I do smoke so much is because I barely sleep, I fall asleep at 1am and wake up at 6am most days. And yes I do enjoy it enough to smoke it enough, I don't need, just like I'm not high right now, but I enjoy it. Shoot me!
I would challenge anyone that has been drinking coffee at least 3 cups per day for 10 years to quitting for any period of time and let's keep track of cravings and effects. I could walk away from it tomorrow without a blink if I had to, I've done it before and I could do it again. I just enjoy it way too much to do so. But then again I don't drink, smoke cigarettes and never done anything harder than marijuana or shrooms(5 years ago), hell I don't even take Tylenol or other pharmaceutical drugs, so if marijuana the worst thing I do to my body I can live with that.

For sure, but that's because smoking it is the path of least resistance. I'm sure it will always be that way, but if it were legal it would be cool to walk into a liquor store and buy some weed cookies or whatever.

Sliver is right, I would say 95% of the time I vaporize, and when I do smoke a J it's only with friends or convinence. I just say smoke because it weird to type vapor instead.

You do realize that marijuana use is linked to poor sleep patterns, right? As far as the rest of what you're saying, a lot of addiction has to do with personality types. There are some people who are more susceptible to addictions than others, and I don't think pot is vastly different. I've always found the hypocrisy of a lot of pot smokers to be pretty funny. If I sat in my house every night after work and got drunk, my weed-smoking friends would tell me I have a problem, yet getting high everyday is apparently different.

I can't recall a time in my life when I was completely mentally balanced. I'm also genetically hard-wired for rage (hooray for alcoholic scottish genetics) and was definitely more messed up when I was younger. So I guess I'm part of the self-medicating crazies camp, it's not so bad.

In my experience, alcohol is a lot more comparable to coke than it is to weed. They both can kill you and they just obliterate your mental and physical health when used routinely. I don't think that's really comparable to a data set that suggests weed is linked to psychosis.

Then why do most of my buddies pass out on my couch after tourching one?
It's been like that since I was 8 years old, so unless my body could feel the effects of something that happens 10 year in the future I don't buy it, or at least not in my case.
As I have mentioned numerous times, in numerous threads, any drug will have an effect on someone. I don't care what it is anyone could have a bad reaction to it and effect their daily lives.

Reminds me of my buddies who tell me I have a problem yet they finish a 6 pack on the way home from work. I could care less if someone wants to have a drink every night, good for them, it's their choice.

And weed doesn't? If you use any substance excessively, it's going to cause harmful effects.

I think it has more to do with the type of sleep you get and how tired you are the next day than actually falling asleep, but I know what you're saying. I've had sleeping problems forever, although I did notice they were worse when I was smoking pot regularly.

For sure. Although my favourite example was how mad a friend of mine got when a few of us went to a hockey game in Van last year. A friend and I drank a whole bunch of beer and got pretty drunk and she gave us the whole "You can't have fun without drinking?" speech. Then the next day we went to the aquarium but as we were walking to the front door she went into full panic mode and told us to go ahead because she needed to get high first. Purely anecdotal and it's not really a reflection of all potheads, just some that I know.

I know someone who did this and stopped because the alcohol content in their blood caused chronic nose bleeds.

You can't say that all dangerous things are equally dangerous and casually throw scale and severity out the window.

That's not what I was saying. The differences between alcohol and weed,if used in the same quantities and frequencies are probably negligible. Yes, alcohol is bad for you, but inhaling superheated smoke of any kind isn't going to be any better for you if done on a regular basis. I'm not really sure why you chose to throw cocaine into the mix.

I had no idea, but I'll defer to the connoisseur.

I smoked pineapple express once, after that every other strain lost its appeal and I don't really smoke anymore except for the odd occasion.

Cannabis use impairs memory, attention, inhibitory control, executive functions and decision making, both during the period of acute intoxication and beyond, persisting for hours, days, weeks or more after the last use of cannabis. Long-term or heavy cannabis use appears to result in longer-lasting cognitive abnormalities and possibly structural brain alterations. Greater adverse cognitive effects are associated with cannabis use commencing in early adolescence.
