There is one particular ######bag who I'm tempted to kill every time I see his insecure, subwoofer blastin', SUV drivin', tough guy wannabe arse. He drives a sorry POS falling apart old arse Ford (With a V8 of course, he couldn't be a complete ###### without having 8 cylinders to pollute the world with) complete with falling off bumper and filty dirty wheels and a paint job that only sees water when it rains (And I'm sure he thinks it's clean after it gets rained on...). And you guessed it, the coup de grāce - he has subs in the back. Lots of them. And presumably enough power for a whole neighbourhood. Completely necessary when listening to it in the back of your own vehicle isn't it?

This ###### proceeds to make so much god damn noise that I can hear him when he turns down the street about five streets over. He literally listens with it as high as the volume will go - and then plays it even louder than that. Hope you weren't enjoying a peaceful evening, cause this ###### comes through and wakes up any sleeping children in your house, any resting animals, and any semblance of calmness that existed before. Not only that, but he feels the necessity to hold the foot to the floor EVERY time he drives down the street. Speed Limit 25 mph? Not for ######boy! He purposely slows down driving around the corner where my house is and then floors it. Of course he has loud leaky exhaust so I can hear that noise coupled with the annoying earth shattering subwoofers too!

How could it get any worse you ask? Simple. Most humans leave their house in the morning, go to work, then come home. This would mean generally two trips using the same path a day, maybe an extra one or two every now and then. But in the life of a ######bag, there is much to do. Constant trips up and down the same street for no reason at all. **** and giggles. To pick up a case of cheap beer for his trophy trailer girlfriend while they listen to the latest Garth Brooks CD they stole from Wal-Mart. This ######bag drives up and down my street at least 4-6 times a day. Every time he drives by, he has every window down (Presumably because his broken piece of garbage SUV has the AC broken - and dammit he's not gonna spend any money fixing that, all the money has to go into upgrading those subs!).

He always has one arm flexing while holding his steering wheel (Because it's necessary to flex like a tough guy instead of holding the steering wheel like a normal person - it shows people how tough you are!) and the other arm out the window holding the side (Partly to keep the door from falling off, and to show off his barbed wire tattoo on his arm - WATCH OUT, he has a tattoo and wears sleeveless shirts, clearly the sign of a dangerous man who's a REAL tough guy).

Good god, I don't know what inspires people to be such annoying **** but car subwoofers are THE thing to piss people off. Lately Ive been noticing nothing but SUVs and pickup trucks with massive subs. I am sick of hearing ****** rap music or trash heavy metal, you playing it so loud that I can hear the SAME repeating bass for four minutes simply makes me want to jam a screwdriver in your ear!

That's not a Garth Brooks on CD. I installed a mp3 player.

This could probably go in GMG thread but whatever... I live just off Whyte Ave in Edmonton and everyday from 12-3am I would hear a truck just flooring it. They are incredibly loud... and in the summer I would hear motorcycles just going crazy. That's the trade-off living so close to Whyte Ave and school but it gets hella annoying when you're studying or sleeping.

During the day a dumbass truck toots his rail horn just to scare people around him. Ears are literally ringing after he does it. I'm not particularly fond of truck drivers. I know not every truck driver is like this, but all ######bags drive trucks, so then all truck drivers are automatically ######bags

Come on guys; I really don't feel like handing out half a dozen infractions here. I deleted some posts instead.

Here we have a new member trying to start a conversation; and everybody gangs up on him to try and make him feel unwelcome. If you don't like the conversation, then just move onto the next thread. If you feel it is inappropriate; then report it. And of course if you have a contrary opinion; then express it constructively.

If nobody likes a thread; then it falls off the first page within hours and into oblivion. So let that happen.

What I want to know is, what piece of trim is it on every one of these subwoofer idiots cars, that always rattles in unison with the bass beat? There was a similar guy on my building about 4 years ago, specifically the guy in the unit below me, and I had asked him about it a few times. "Please, can you dial it back after 11 pm when you pull into the parkade? My dog starts barking, and everyone in the building is complaining about it." No dice.

This is what I did...lol.

I was waitng for about a week, for him to pull the stunt again. And on a weekday night at about 1:30 am, pulls the same stunt. I have a 400 watt, old school technics reciever, and a pair of old monitor speakers with 12" subwoofers in my store room. They are so loud, they are unusable in a condo setting. I looped the intro to Iron Maidens Phantom of the opera which is a very agressive bass solo onto a CD.... 90 minutes worth. I laid the speakers face down on my floor (his ceiling) hit play, hit repeat, cranked it to about 8, and went to my girlfriends house for about 3 hours. I guess the stipple was falling off his ceiling, it was so loud. When I got home the speakers had moved clean across the living room floor to the other seide of the room.

Got a $200 fine from the condo board, for the noise violation, but it was worth every penny, since the guy moved out, the next month, to the relief of me, and the guy who owned the unit below, who was stuck with this d-bag on a 1 year lease and he was looking for any excuse to evict him. When he got a new renter, he paid half the fine for me.

What goes around comes around. That driver will have serious hearing problems later in life and a couple of hearing aids.

This. I know a guy who spends every dollar he has on making his truck loud. I don't get it. What's the point in listening to your trash music if its turned into excessive bass?

A lot of them, but I've found the license plates / holders rattle the most.

I was told by a person who does hearing tests for construction workers that bass will have little to no affect on your hearing because it is such a low frequency and the sound waves are longer. And if it did because it's not a normal frequency you would never really notice it in day to day life. I'm not claiming this as truth but just something I have asked before that should know what they are doing.

Not saying this makes the situation better because he should have some respect for his neighbours. Personally I like my music loud but if I'm pulling into my driveway or it's late I will turn it down.

Makes sense. Any hearing damage I've seen on my hearing tests comes from high frequency stuff.

Yeah, those might do it too.

Young men driving vehicles down streets with the windows rolled down, arm hanging out and music blaring is as old as the hair on gramma's chest and, apparently, an age-old and successful tactic for getting chicks to notice you.

A lady client of mine told me that was the formula in the 1930's outside the dance halls in Sylvan Lake. The cars and the music might have been different but there it was.

It was certainly the formula in the 60's and 70's growing up in small town Alberta and on American Graffitti and it's still the formula today.

This kind of thing came along the moment a radio was installed in the first Model T Ford.

So . . . . . don't look for improvements anytime soon. If it's not him, it'll be some other young guy next year.

Bass may not have any effect on your hearing, but if the bass is loud you can be sure the volume is too.
