Still the property of the flames but unsigned.
apparently, if he reaches age 22 without a deal, then he becomes a free agent...

I thought you had to sign a player two years after he was drafted unless they were playing in the NCAA.
Not really sure about European prospects so I could be wrong.

Ryan Howse with 2 goals tonight and a +2 in another Chilliwack loss.
That gives him 44 goals in 57 games, good for second in the WHL. Last year he had 47 goals in 7s games.
The kid's a beauty!

everything i found led me to the conclusion that you are correct. The rule, apparently, is that post-2005, regarding european players, if unsigned after two years then they become an unrestricted free-agent.
However, the few things that discredit this notion is that the flames website still lists him as a prospect. A lil' weird. Anyway, he looks like a player I would keep an eye on.
Perhaps we only posses his rights until the upcoming draft. Make something happen Jay. Get him signed. Bring him to the ahl.

And a heads up Max Reinhart and the Kootenay Ice play the Red Deer Rebels on Sportsnet @ 7:00 PM Mountain Tonight.
Don't think Leach is back in the lineup yet.

Wahl, Chucko and Bancks all have concussions, if I recall correctly, and aren't expected to return anytime soon.

IIRC all 3 were in Calgary last week or two weeks ago to get looked at by the Calgary doctors. So yeah they aren't coming back soon.
In other injury news John Negrin is officially cleared to play.

Hopefully he'll be in the lineup this weekend and can have a strong finish to the season. I've always liked him, but his development has really taken a hit with his injuries the last two seasons.

Nemisz, Bouma, Patterson, Irving, Erixon and Brodie. That right there is about the limit of who I think will ever be in the NHL.
Although I can't myself comment on CJ Severyn, the boys on the Fan today said they saw him at several games on the big10 network and were amazed by him. Anyone else have any info on the kid?

Those are some of our youngest prospects. And while I agree with you, I can still see Ryan Stone and Stefen Meyer making a 4th line.

The Flames organization appears to really like Nemisz. I don't think they expected him to be a great scorer, but rather a Nystrom-esque solid two-way leadership player. He's been a rock-solid player in Abbotsford as a 20-year-old. I imagine he'll get a long look at the 2011 camp.

Friday night
Howse had two goals and one assist. He now has 46 goals and 74 points. He has now passed his point total from last year (72) and needs two more goals to pass his goal total from last year (47)
Ferland had one goal.
Bennett had one goal.
The Heat lost 4-0.
Cameron ended up playing against Grantham, Carpentier, Meyers and Nyren in the ECHL tonight.
Cameron had one goal.

I'm not sure about Stefan Meyer anymore.
I know he is not expected to play any kind of an offensive role in the pro's (or minors), but I can't think of any other reason why he is not in the NHL. He has a complete lack of any offensive puck skill whatsoever.
He is a grinder with the skill of an enforcer.

Last night's 4-0 loss for the Heat was a debacle. It was so frustrating to watch because everyone was frustrating.
Playfair held a 20 min closed door meeting with players only. Apparently it was a "screaming fest" according to The Abby News.
I'm officially in the 'Fire Playfair' group. Anything that has to do with offense is non-existent. Maybe Cory Clouston's available
