Westbrook Station area from above, by SFUVancouver on SSP.

You can really see the alignment of the tunnel as well as the station itself taking shape.

Drivers should keep in mind that Sarcee Trail is closed between 17th Ave and Bow Trail every night this week, 8pm -6am. It'll no doubt be frustrating for a lot of people.

Detours are probably 37th Street, 45th Street, and 69th Street.

It's an odd feeling driving under that construction.

Looks like 26th St Station is coming along nicely. From what I can gather the platforms are in and nearly all the arches are also in now. Looks like cinder-block construction is starting on what looks like a station building on the SW corner of the platform.

I believe it was taken from a flight departing YYC to YVR.

^Yeah I think so. I didn't take it, but a guy who lives in Vancouver did.

Great pic, makes that monstrous dirt pile @ Westbrook station seem tiny.

Also; looks like they're doing some paving of some new alignments again today at the Bow/Crowchild/10th Ave interchange/onramp/mess

^I think this is for the permanent alignments for all the roads in question in the area.

The spring/summer of 2011 will continue to see lots of roadwork and delays, but it should mostly be over by the fall with few impacts to motorists from there on out. Late 2011 until the project is open and operational will mostly consist of finishing work on the station structures, catenary erection, stringing and other electrical work, some track and way, and finally testing, repairing, commissioning and training.

When they take down the temporary bridge behind our house on 17th and fill in the hole, I will cry tears of joy.

^I agree. There's always problems with them. Does it show up at all? I can see it.

Fixed. Had to printscreen and re-host. Someone really needs to make twitpics more user-friendly for sharing outside of Twitter.

Taken by defaultuser on SSP.

-----------------------------------------

Also the new WestLRT newsletter is out.

Of note:

- 33rd Street between Bow Trail and 17th Avenue is set to re-open in the early spring
- Bow Trail will see a complete closure (all lanes eastbound and westbound) between 26th Street and Crowchild Trail during the night sometime in April. This is to install the new 24th Street Pedestrian bridge, and I'd imagine it will only take a couple or three nights.

- All the girders are in place for the Sarcee Trail/17th Avenue SW interchange, so those nighttime closures are done. Bridge deck work has commenced.

- Looks like the launching truss will finally be done its work sometime in April.
