Recommend an Optometrist
The guy i've been seeing is just too far out of date, I get the feeling that he is holding on for retirement...their office and equipment is the same it's been for at least 20 years.
So it's time for me to upgrade, I tried one place and was impressed with the updated equipment...seemed to use some computer model to check vision (I didn't even know this existed), etc. however beyond finding out my perscription I didn't get the feeling they really had experiance on their side.
So I'm looking for some CP members who have an optometrist that they absolutly recommend. I take my eyes and eyesight seriously and they must too... Prefer location in the NW but i'll go anywhere in Calgary.
Edit: I'd prefer a place that doesn't seem like their main business is selling frames and contact lenses, (I want to get my prescription and shop around)

^ Let me ask you this, when you go into the office do they have a computer at reception or do they still do all their charts and files manually as if it is 1980?
//end rant

On a side note, what's with optometrists always trying to hawk 'Maui Jim' brand sunglasses? or is this only a Vancouver phenomenon?

Dr. Jill Bridges operates an optometrist clinic on 7th ave downtown off the c-train tracks. She is highly recommended.
She has another optometrist with her, a female, I can't remember her name but I found her skills to determine a difficult prescription inferior to Dr. Bridges.
I was going to a very difficult eye problem and Dr. Bridges did a fantastic job determining my prescription where other optometrists could not.

That's who we use as well, she is fantastic.
Side note: Had a lazy eye as a child and got the surgery to fix... been to way too many eye doctors in my lifetime. Not fun.

Tighten the muscle in my left eye, i was about 10 i think when i had it done. It started to come back a year or 2 ago and was told the only way to make it better was exercise the eye muscle... just ####ty luck i guess. School is hard on it with all the reading and computer work.
