so because he was all ready suspended for the return leg at WHL, the earliest he could play if AC Milan progress that far is the final

I think so. European bans go on forever.
I recall once see a guy suspended for a red card 10 years prior.
Don't know if that's the case anymore.

European bans last as long as it takes you as an individual player to serve them - even if you get traded to another team. For instance if Milan got knocked out against Spurs and any team he played for did not qualify for five years, the remaining 3 games of hios ban would still have to be served five years from now.

Disappointing result in Marseille for United. 0-0 in one of the least eventful games I've watched recently.
The most exciting part was Marseille supporters shining lasers on United players and throwing golf balls into the area on corners.

The Bundesliga gets a 4th CL spot at the expense of the Serie A who are now down to 3.
Quote:
The Deutsche Fussball Liga (DFL) has confirmed there will be four Bundesliga entrants in the Champions League for the 2012-13 season. Serie A will only have three places as a result.
After recent disappointment for Serie A teams in Europe - all three Italian sides in the Champions League lost their home ties while Napoli were eliminated from the Europa League - German sides have moved ahead in the UEFA co-efficient rankings.
That means that, despite Inter winning the Champions League last season, Italy are now too far behind Germany in the rankings to recover.

That is a seriously depleted Bremen side who lost Diego and Ozil in the summer and then lost Mertesacker for a period of time through injury.

Possibly but I don't believe that they, Hannover, Mainz or Leverkusen are more deserving than Tottenham, Man City or Chelsea.

Yeah, except for the fact that of the 3 English teams you named only 1 is able to actually abide by the new fair play financial rules whereas all 3 German teams can.

Agree with this. More than likely, it'll be BVB, Bayern and Leverkusen in the Champions League spots. I'm not sure how anyone can say any of those teams are not deserving. Furthermore, as Locke states, once the fair play rules are in force, it'll be interesting to see how the English teams fare. Youth development in Germany is head and shoulders above that in the UK and it'll make it quite easy for Bundesliga teams to abide by the new rules as they can just bring up starlets from their youth teams (like BVB with Grosskreutz, Gotze).

It is for this reason that of those three teams, I want Spurs to take 4th spot albeit with an extra early St Totteringham's Day.

the best case scenario is for Spurs to finish 5th but win the CL
I don't care who finishes 4th out of Man City or Chelsea and gets dropped

You do realise that means you'll be in the Uefa Cup next year?

team that wins the CL gets in automatically and knocks out the lowest ranked team from their country
that was the rule made after Liverpool won it and didnt finish top 4
so if Spurs finished 5th but won the CL than whomever finished 4th would get knocked in to the Europa

Robin van Persie travels with Arsenal to Camp Nou. Never thought I'd see that after the nasty knee injury. Song is still out.

Can not wait until this match. Anyone know of good places in Calgary to watch?
Might want more atmosphere than my empty house for this one.

Limerick's on Macleod maybe? I've watched a few Champs League and Euro qualifiers there and there's usually a decent group of guys there watching
