The saddest part is that Robocop wasn't even filmed in Detroit. It was filmed in Dallas

Really they should be building three Robocop Statues. One for each movie. And maybe an extra one for that stupid TV series where Robocop teams up with a ghost.

Robocop 2 and 3 can get a pass from me. They were cool when I was 12 but they really suck when you see them now, especially 3 - even though he had a cool jetpack and Jill Hennessy.

There was also the 2nd Robocop TV series, Prime Directives where Robocop faces off against a black Robocop who's armor is black and is also african american.

Funny how both the original TV series and the more recent miniseries were Canadian productions. Robocop was played by the short dude who was the hitchhiker in The Hitchhiker (HBO/Showcase) and Robocable was the black dude from Captain Power.

OMG Captain Power. That's a name I haven't heard in a long time. That brings back fond... no wait...fond isn't the right word. Seizure-like memories. Yeah that's it.

I'm hoping that they make the statue as large as possible.

Although I must admit I do have mixed feelings about allowing rich hispter artists to use Detriot and its citizens as their canvas.

Twitter the Mayor. He seems like an exceptionally accommodating fellow.
