I question if anyone angry with the Arcade Fire win has actually purchased over 10 albums in the last 3 years.

Looking at those pictuers theres a pretty clear line around the horns, I'm guessing glue ons.

But WTF is wrong with that guy.

Its not like Grammy's really mean anything anyways...

For example, the Rolling Stones only one 1 Grammy in 1989 and it was only a lifetime achievement award...how can someone win a lifetime achievement award when they'd never even been recognized by the Grammy Academy before.

Arcade Fire is definitely a surprise, but the exposure is worth more than the award IMO.

At a huge risk of sounding like a hipster doofus. I really hope that people who have been exposed to Arcade Fire find their old albums. I personally didn't like the Suburbs as it fell well short of my expectations, but Neon Bible and Funeral are both spectacular albums that everyone should hear.

Really? I thought it was better than Neon Bible, but not quite as good as Funeral.

With that being said, my taste in music is not in the arcade fire genre so my opinion is irrelevant.
Eminem didn't deserve to win because he didn't make a new album. Seriously, the guy has been rapping about the exact same crap for 10 years.

The Suburbs was the album of the year (by many metrics) and the entire album is solid. That said the two songs they played at the Grammys were puzzling. I would also give them the worst performance(s) of the night. The album of the year isn't about performance and acting though so nice to see them win over the pretenders. Why are people getting so worked up about this? It is just the Grammys and the Brit Awards are tonight and nobody will remember anything about them in 2 months from now....I am just now starting to get sick of The Suburbs. It will always be summer 2010 to me though. Not an album that you toss aside after a month or two....Arcade Fire likely didn't want the Grammy to the same degree as many feel that they didn't deserve it....The Suburbs wasn't made for the Grammys and much of the lyrics spell that out quite clearly. Likely want to give the thing away to Bieber if they could who you had to feel bad for as that is his thing.

I don't even like Arcade Fire anymore cause they aren't Indie enough with this Grammy win. I am a huge fan of Smugalizkdk3, a band so Indie they aren't even real.

BAM.

Yeah Neon Bible did have some pretty flat tracks but the good tracks where amazing and helped pick up the slack for the entire album. My problem with the Suburbs is that, for me anyway, it didn't feature any really great tracks. I found it a collection of a bunch mediocre ones (by Arcade Fire standards). Funeral is just a masterpiece and by far their best work, I never expect them to recreate something that good ever again.

Oh and by the way: Troll somewhere else.

Yeah, that's the day the music industry becomes a big joke, because up until now it's been so credible.

Loved seeing Mumford and Sons on stage. Great to see them getting some recognition. Their energy was amazing and they look like they are having so much fun. (The youtube image has been reversed for copyright reasons)

Esperanza Spaldez at 23 years old is an instructor at Julliard.

Justin Beiber at 16, will never have a real life again once the public grows bored with him.

Just saying.

Great to see the Arcade Fire win, if for nothing else, just to irritate people like those twitter/facebook posts. Or simpletons as I like to call them. Yeah it might sound snobby, but if you're musical pallette consists only of the mainstream acts that we normally see at these awards shows, you are hardly any type of expert let alone authority on the world of music. I'd hardly classify you as a music fan. So nice to see Arcade Fire take home the big prize.

But the Grammy still suck and are hardly worth paying attention to.

Thats all kinds of funny, especially if you make the motorcycle shifting gears sound while you lean into the turns.
