So off to Memphis where both the men and women will be involved.

Here's the draw for the Men's ATP 500
http://www.memphistennis.com/userfil...011%283%29.pdf

Raonic vs Verdasco Part Deux goes Wednesday night

For The Women both Marino and Wozniak are involved.
http://www.memphistennis.com/userfil...011%283%29.pdf

Marino is the #6 seed so she should make a good run. Both players play tomorrow.

Thank you for posting these details. I really appreciate that you posted about Raonic playing today and that it was on TV. We just watched it and it was so cool to watch him win his first tournament. We would have missed it without your posts.

I didn't get to watch today but great news for Milos and tennis Canada. Kinda crazy he got Verdasco again so quickly - that should be interesting. I'm also kinda curious to see Raonic play on grass and clay.

It's my pleasure. Tennis is a crazy year-round world wide sport. There are tournaments going on anywhere and everywhere.

This thread was created by Matty 81 to track Canadians and tennis in general. Who knew that we would discover a Canadian winning a title so quickly!

Awesome result. As Roddick has shown, he could be top 10 in the world with just his serve.

It was a bit of a inside joke that Raonic had with somebody. I don't know who the somebody was but he had enough pull to present Raonic with the maple syrup when he won the title.

Raonic was a wild card entry so not expected to win the tournament. The guy made some kind of joking bet that if he won the tournament he would buy Raonic a bottle of the maple syrup. Which he did.

It was kinda funny to see during the award presentation after the tournament. Raonic said he would enjoy it with his pancakes tomorrow.

I was hoping they would give him something from the SanJose area. Like a $2000/month, 300 sq ft apt filled with 12 people from East Asia.

#6 Marino wins easily 6-4, 6-1

She gets the Romanian Cristea next, should be easy.

That injury has really set her back. I'm not sure if she'll be able to regain her pre-injury form. I watched her closely during Fed Cup action and her body language was just off, even when she was leading. She was defeated physically, even if she was ahead on the scoreboard.

The top 2 seeded women, Strycova and Arvidsson (WHO?) are out of the tournament in Memphis. The 4th, 5th and 8th seeds are out too. There is nobody left. Just a bunch of unpronouncable names.

It's an opportunity for Rebecca Marino to win the whole thing.

Only seeds left are

#3 Melanie Oudin (USA)
#6 Rebecca Marino (CAN)
#7 Renata Vorokova (CZE)
