Really? How so? People can do whatever they want, and ask for whatever treatment they want. It shouldn't really insult anyone. Either give it to them or don't.
That being said, one thing Islam teaches is to adhere to the law of the land no matter where one might reside. If non-segregated PE class in elementary school is law then Muslims should abide by the rules. If it's something that can easily be altered then they have every right to ask for it.
In my opinion it's a little silly to want to segregate boys from girls in an elementary gym class, but i can understand the music issue.

I don't get it, we hear from a lot of the immigrant communities that they're being excluded, and its a source of anger and resentment and because of that its our fault that we're seeing home grown extremism.
Yet we're seeing a lot of stories like this that they don't want to be included, they want things to be set aside and they want to be differently treated.

Just for reference, everyone is inherently racist. I dont consider myself racist by any means but certain things bug me more than others and this sort of stuff is one of them. Everyone in here is racist to some degree.

Anyone else think the word Cracker is a complement?
Originally the white slave driver because he would "crack" the whip, hence the noun cracker.
IMO once "Slave" Blacks migrated back to Africa only to enslave their fellow blacks at freedom town; that guilt crap about white slave suppression went out the window.
As well, I would be happy having all different kinds of slaves... Lot's of women too. I blame this on Stars: Spartacus and my libido.

The cool thing about the IAT tests is that they offer evidence that it's not only majority members (aka white folks) who have swallowed society's prevailing racial profiles, but that this also true of minorities (aka black folks) as well. Both groups typically have an easier time pairing positive words with white faces, and negative words with black faces, than the contrary.
The test can also be used to prove that Cheez Whiz goes better with celery than it does with Hal Johnson's back hair.
For example.

First it makes me answer like 50 straight questions where I am supposed to associate good with European and black with bad.
After I've had plenty of time to do this and get myself accustomed to the way to answer fastest and how the system works it switches them.
Very conveniently it switches it so that Black is now associated with good and Euro with bad.
And shockingly (NOT!) I had a hard time disassociating my brain with the system that I'd just spent 50 questions and 5 minutes training myself to answer. Especially since it told me to answer as fast as I could.
Had it made me associate Black with good first and then Black with bad 2nd I'm 100% sure the results would have been the opposite.
That might be one of the most unscientific studies/tests I've ever done. In fact I'd say it is downright pointless and stupid.
Funny, the questionnaire at the end probably closely reflects my actual views because it point blank asked me questions.

It's things like this that motivate me even more to move out of my NE neighborhood, and back down to the SW. Better yet, outside the city in a white majority community.
Call me what you want, I don't care. I'm tired of being the only one on my block that speaks English and knows how to clear the sidewalk of snow. As soon as I turn onto my community all I smell is curry.
Whatever. GTFO. Go back to where you came from. The majority of these people are just waiting for the "phone call" anyway.
FYI: I didn't move to the NE out of choice. My wife already owned a home here when we got married. And even she's tired of living in "lil' Muslim."
Done rant.

Well there you go. That's where threads like this are heading. I'm glad someone went beyond the "anti-multiculturalism" facade and said what they really want to say. It's pure and utter hatred. Stuff that shows that humans, as a species, have not evolved from apes, but devolved.

I see where you are coming from there, but it would be unfair and state negligence to have kids homeschooled by parents whose educational insights belong in the 13th Century.

I have always wondered is the air thinner up there? Everyone who thinks that there are issues with multiculturalism, especially in Canada where we do pander to the whims of the minority of the minority. These are people who are being told by other Muslims to appreciate how good things are in Canada relative to places where they are not allowed to have music and women are subjugated to unspeakable horrors.
Obviously the post of the guy that you quoted is chalk full of bigotry but to say that he represents everyone who thinks that multiculturalism has issues when it comes to people who engage in negative behaviours from their own cultures is a pretty big leap. I don't care how someone eats, which language they speak (as long as they can speak one of the two official languages) or what the colour of their skin is or what they call god.

Thanks for the laugh, I'd have to agree, it's time to move.
I can't believe how much Calgary has changed since I moved away 20 years ago

I have to ask because there seems like a hidden message in your post.
Assuming your kids go to public schools how do you feel about them learning about evolution and earth science?

Why don't we take the UK as an example when you DON'T defend YOUR values as a civilization. When you accommodate the new comer over your own values.
UK Radical CHRISTIAN.....errr Muslim schools in the UK.
Beauty!!!
Hindus drink cow piss and have no intellect.....

What is so pathetic about this? It is THE Muslims WARNING US and the progressives making excuses.
Quote:
This school is required by its inspectors to teach tolerance and respect for other faiths. But the Channel 4 current affairs programme Dispatches filmed secretly inside it – and instead discovered that Muslim children are being taught religious apartheid and social segregation.

However, we have a Government that, on the one hand, gives grand speeches about tackling the causes of extremism, as David Cameron did last week, while, on the other, encouraging local communities to set up their own schools – including faith schools. It’s time to stop these mixed messages.
And Muslims can no longer sweep this under the carpet – they need to face up to what is happening behind closed doors. Many warn that if we don’t all tackle this toxic mix of hatred and violence head on, we will reap the whirlwind in years to come.

The test relies on aggregate data - so really it's supposed to be looking mostly at societal as opposed to personal tendencies. The order of the pairings should vary between tests. To get a personalized result, you'd have to take the test several times with pairings ordered in different ways.
