And the mediocre team allows a goal against the legitimately awful team within 15 minutes.
Does anyone in England know how to defend? Anyone?
Yeah, this English lineup is not proficient in the playing of football. Capello should take a much less serious approach to friendlies, he should let the kids get blooded in games like this, who cares if they lose if they're fielding an experimental squad? But when you're losing and its still most of your first team players, thats when it gets embarassing.
Look at Germany, they're playing 4 full National Team players, of those only three I would call regulars (Adler, Schweinsteiger and Khedira) and the others are on the fringe, youth players or are regular subs, and even then its because Adler and Schweinsteiger need match fitness from injury so they're getting it in this game.
I'm surprised after the last few weeks and with this being an experimental lineup anyways that Nedum Onuoha didn't get a look in at right back for this game.

I don't get why Richards didn't get the start there today, I would have him as first choice for the senior team
its the weakest position by far though on the team though, although it is nice that for the first time in forever that distinction doesn't belong to the keeper
I've watched that replay a couple more times now, and now I'm a little confused as to whether or not that should have been called back. To me, it looks like Nani heads the ball after the ball had crossed the line. Should that not be a goal?? It shouldn't matter if Nani was in an offside position(which was very close as well).
Now, I could be wrong in me breaking down the rule, and if I am, please correct me, but to me, that's a good goal.
I just finished watching Croatia defeat the Czech Republic 4-2 in friendly play. Despite the score, Croatia looked real lost without Luka Modric in the midfield. He is absolutely the cog that keeps that team together. Luckily, he will be back in time for more Euro qualifications in a couple of weeks. Finally Slaven Bilic is letting some of the younger Croatians play and get some experience.
I'm surprised with Germany, they sent out a pretty complete lineup, not too many kids getting a look. I think that might have something to do with a U21 game being on at the same time.
