I believe that might actually be the current long-term plan as the tunnel has not yet been approved.

Well to be fair, the airport LRT alignment idea has flipped from one side to the other for a long time now. Now the Transportation GM Mac Logan just confirmed that there has been no official plan for airport LRT up until including it with the airport tunnel plan.

I'm really surprised that council has to ask some of these questions, they should know them.

I can always tell in meetings I call at work who's read materials in advance. It's pretty clear who hasn't when you actually watch these meetings. Generally the obvious questions come from these people.

Unfortunately in politics, these people feel the need to pontificate, drop buzzwords and acronyms, and generally chew up time to make it look like they've "done their part". L

She said one of the reasons she won't support is that the LRT connection seems like an "afterthought," saying that there is simply room being made for it with the tunnel and not an operating line right from day one ("no money for actual rails, LRT cars, etc."). That's grade A BS. Ensuring the right of way and alignment is most of the battle, making the actual line only a matter of time. She was speaking as if it would never happen if it wasn't operating from day one. That was the main thing, she said quite a few other things that were suspect.
