The Lombardi trophy isn't inthe top 20 most prized trophies. The superbowl might be near the top of the most coveted championships (at least in the US) but the trophy is nearly meaningless.
Stanley cup, grey cup, world cup of soccer trophy, numerous golf, tennis trophies, numerous soccer trophies, the heisman etc are all lightyears ahead in terms of trophy importance.
Nobody grows up dreaming of hoisting the Vince Lombardi trophy, they dream of winning the superbowl. Otherwise it would be called the Vince Lombardi trophy playoffs instead of the superbowl.

Until a few years ago (I'm not that old, to be fair) I didn't realize that the superbowl had a trophy.

And the trophy isn't unique. They make a new one every year.

Rooting for the Steelers although I don't particularly care for either team.

CNN reporting that there's a ticket problem.
They sold more tickets than they have seats for. Displaced fans (1250 of them) still outside the stadium with tickets but nowhere to go.

Matthew Perry back on TV? Why is this the first I am hearing about it?! On CTV you say? Wow.
As for the game, can't stand either team, can't stand the Steelers more (except for Tomlin). So lose Steelers.
Apparently about 1000 seats at the stadium are deemed unsafe, and the NFL is going to pay 3x the face value back. Little consolation if you travelled and got bent over for hotel and local expenses. And, 4 entrances aren't open because of falling ice....pretty much a disaster for Jerry Jones.
Edit for the seat issue:
The league says 1,250 fans were affected. The NFL and Cowboys were able to relocate 850 of them to “similar or better seats.” 400 of them will be denied seats.
“These fans will each receive a refund of triple the cost of the face value of their ticket. The face value of these tickets are $900,” the NFL said in a statement. “The safety of fans attending the Super Bowl was paramount in making the decision and the NFL, Dallas Cowboys and City of Arlington officials are in agreement with the resolution.”

They reported earlier that the fans have been offered "alternate" seats or they can take the refund. Probably in a broom closet or something. First I'm hearing about the 3x refund though.

Effin CTV. If Eygpt can revolt when the internet is cut off, Canadians should revolt for this simsubbing bs. If people want to watch the game on CTV, they can watch it CTV. If we pay for American channels, I would kinda want to watch it on American channels.
Anyway, should be a good superbowl.

well so much for trying to go the online streaming route. no legal options exist, and even the non-legal ones aren't available. i think i'll just watch a movie until the 4th quarter, no way i'm putting up with CTV's garbage for 2+ hours

"World Champions" lmao.
A one country league, played virtually on where else in the world, played almost 99% exclusively by Americans...
