As for it is rude to ignore business inquiries...
Yes it is, but if you have a lot of business inquiries, you take care of the more important or more urgent ones first. If you reply to every inquiry that comes in within seconds regardless of urgency and you get tons of them... it would just give you less and less time to solve the ones that are urgent and may never get to the ones that are less urgent, even if all you're doing on the new emails is telling them you'd get back to them later. Sure, it may take only seconds, but emails stack up. You take 5 seconds to type that and 12 emails roll in, that's a whole minute you coulda used to solve a problem gone.
I've waited days before companies have returned emails. If it's an urgent matter, they shouldn't really be emailing anyway.

this is perfect, i do it all the time. thats not the same thing, business is done best over the phone or in person, no question.
ok, well that was fun ... clearly another case where my rant would be better understood over a beer and not in text. ;-)

I think a few dozen beer would be required to make this more relatable.
You have unrealistic expectations around communication.

not 24 hours a day mate, no kidding. use some context.
anyhow, imagine though if you did email someone and got a great reply at some odd hour. wouldnt that show you something about their commitment to taking care of you as a client?
over the years i have done a tonne of business with china and i always answer my email so they can address the issue before their end of business. many of my competitors dont and wonder why i have so many good relationships.

Sometimes the job situation doesn't allow someone to reply in 30 minutes. It may take until the end of the day to make a response.

Clearly it's you that doesn't get it. It's not a technology thing, its an "I don't want to deal with this clown right now" thing.
Stalling and procrastination. It never gets obsolete.

International business clearly demands a different schedule.
But frankly if I emailed someone at an odd hour and they got back to me I would feel guilty about interrupting their personal life.

I don't ignore my friends, even if it means I don't reply to a text or email within 30 minutes. And I don't think they would feel ignored if they hadn't heard from me within 30 minutes. My friends are reasonable.

I see no need to be texting people all the time as emails and phone calls work just fine for me. Besides i've seen far too many situations where people let texting rule their lives. Someone stepping out of a movie theatre to respond to a text, or people responding to a text in a middle of a conversation. I could go on but I hope you see my point.
I know the technology exists and how to use it. I'd rather be able to choose when I respond to a person.
