We urgently need to send a clear message to Ottawa, saying that we won't stand by while some of the most profitable companies in the country indiscriminately add new fees to our Internet bills. Enough is enough.

Im a big bandwidth user myself, but come on, people are acting like more than 1% of the population would be impacted by this.

While I get the underlying premise you're attempting to put forth, I don't quite follow what it has to do with food.

Are you suggesting that people are surfing the internet instead of eating?

Was it Ontario ? They've already done this in some places and most people's bills went up, the base allowance in too small.

I'd like to know who, in Calgary, I can sign up with for unlimited cheap internet. Or are these guys just in Ontario?

Since throttling was not allowed I am fine with bw caps. I would prefer to see throttling instead of caps.

All of this has to do with Bell traffic shaping their network 2 years ago when small time ISPs were also subject to traffic shaping since their traffic ran over the Bell network. It was ruled Bell couldnt do this so the result is caps.

Unless you Torrent lots or use netflix up the yahoo i cant imagine most people exceeding their bandwidth per month.

I torrent a decent amount and have 5 computer in our house and we use like 50gb of transfer a month... on a busy month.

i wish people had the same vigor and concern about their food, which is poisoning/killing us, as they do their internet and how much data they can use.

i am working on a thread for my food concerns...stay tuned.....
