Hmm, must be some more, I grew up during the cold war, (a real threat) and we didn't worry much. It seems people enjoy fear mongering nowadays.
Xenu returns to solid form and leads his battlefleet full of ships that look like DC-7's to attack earth. The last thing we'll all do is go to the nearest Church of Scientology and burn them to the ground for killing us in such a ridiculous way.

Hmm, must be some more, I grew up during the cold war, (a real threat) and we didn't worry much. It seems people enjoy fear mongering nowadays.
I'd like to put this into context, how much of the cold war did you live through. Because it was a pretty terrifying time. I remember my parents telling me about the Cuban Missile Crisis and the belief that war was going to happen (and was probably prevented by distance and a bad radio). Or the U-2 incident.
I remember reading stories in highschool and junior high school about the theoretical doomsday clock.
Today its set at 6 minutes to midnight, midnight being the supposed end of all things. There were times in the early 80's where it was 2 minutes to, and in the 70's even closer.
When I was in the army, we trained to take on the Russians. They were 10 feet tall and even after Afghanistan had a terrifying reputation. I remember eyeing the Fulda gap where it was expected that it would be boiling with Russain tanks and APC's in numbers that were uncountable.
The only thing that probably saved the world were that the leaders were to an effect rational.
Even though Kennedy in a way did f#ck up the end game of the Cuban missile crisis.
But it was a scary scary time.

Specific dates where given in 1875, 1914, 1915, 1918, 1920, 1925, 1941, and 1975, unless of course you are the type who believes that these were Bible Students and not true JWs? Here is some reading for you...unless of course you believe this is Atheist propaganda.

In 1995 this was changed as that generation had all but ceased to exist. The latest prediction is that Armageddon will come within the lifetime of the generation of people that saw the generation of people that saw the year 1914. See link about generation teaching below.
Does it bother you that only the first 144,000 JWs to die get to go to heaven?
Does it bother you that if your wife or children need life saving blood transfusions your church disallows this process?
Outside of the fact my cousin was allowed to die by her husband...nothing why? Am I not allowed to discuss the fallacies of the religion or am I just supposed to let them be because they do such great things for society?

Have I taken the time to study my religion of choice? Everyone who is baptized as a Jehovah's Witness has studied the teachings. You can't get baptized without doing so. In fact you have to prove that you understand what you are doing before you can be baptized.

Never once have they actually declared a date. The interpretation of "generation" may have changed. Not a big deal really. I would think this would be rather easy to accept by atheists, as scientific theories change constantly and it's generally accepted that they always will. The theory you accept as "fact" today will change tomorrow.
