He's a big boy as well 6'4" 200lbs

He is 20, playing his overage year, so will likely turn pro this fall

12 goals - 13 assists in 14 games since being traded to Vancouver.

He's got 4 more points in 14 games in Van, than he had in 37 games in Portland.

Can't wait to see how this kid does on the farm next year....he's got some decent size as well.

Maybe he'll end up being a 5th round steal.

One can hope, I dunno... I'm generally suspicious when there's such a dramatic sudden shift in performance. Makes me skeptical that it's all illusionary. Do we have to sign him this year or lose his rights? If we don't I think I'd prefer to see him play another year in the Dub and see if the shift is legit or just circumstantial. If we do I guess we sign him... at worst he just becomes Hugo Carpantier's replacement.

I'm actually blown away by the success our whl prospects are having this year. All of them are still just turning 19 (minus Howse IIRC) which is huge. We may finally have two or three offensive prospects come through the system and finally land on the team.

Toss in Ortio, Nemisz, Irving and Erixon and maybe sutter was finally on the right path with his drafting.

and here I thought he might pout about getting traded from a top team to an also ran. Of course since the Giants did their shakeup the team is doing pretty well and Bennett should get a lot of the credit.

-Leland Irving became the AHL's first 20-game winner tonight with a shootout victory over Chicago. Irving [20-15-2, .907, 2.43] leads the AHL in wins and is among the leaders in minutes played, saves and shootouts. He needs 4 more wins to tie his pro career high (set two years ago).

-Ryan Howse scored his 33rd goal of the season as Chilliwack lost tonight against Kamloops 2-1.
