Lots of rumors in Oakland that Nomar will end up there as well.

I just came across this blog on the Globe and Mail website. He's following the Blue Jays at the meetings in Dalas. According to him they're waiting to hear back from the Brewers on Overbay.

Thats an interesting deal from the Jays side. Jamie Campbell was on the radio here in Edmonton this morning and said his sources told him the Jays were talking about sending Koskie to the Dodgers, he didn't mention who they would get back.

Well I guess Dave Bush is done as a Jay, but I wonder if it's Hillenbrand or Zach Jackson going to the Brewers along with him. I don't know much about Jackson, but I thought he was one of the better pitching prospects the Jays had. And with Hillenbrand going instead the Jays probably save salary.

Talk in LA is that Mueller is all but signed with the Dodgers to play 3rd. Everyone here knows how much McCourt loves Boston - I wouldn't be surprised to see Nomar and Mueller end up in LA

I don't like the idea of getting rid of Koskie after one year. He was injured for a good chunk of the season and played injured when he was in the lineup. He's got a great glove and in my mind can bring a lot to the table with his bat as he's shown before. Don't give up on this guy!!
As for the Overbay trade if it happens, I'm kind've on the fence. I mean does this move really make the Jays all that better? Overbay can hit for better power but in regards to the rest of there stats compared I really don't see a huge improvement, not to mention giving up a good young arm in Bush as well. Am I missing something that makes this trade that good?

Apparently the deal is now:
Overbay
Prospect
for:
Zach Jackson (AA prospect)
Gross
Bush
That is from Ken Rosenthal.

Giving up Dave Bush isn't that big of a deal to me. Yes, he has upside, but in reality he is our 6th starter on the depth char behind:
Halladay, Burnett, Lilly, Chacin, Towers. (Downs is #7).
We've got more pitching depth coming up, McGowan looks like the real deal with a little more seasoning and control, Purcey and Romero close on his tail.
What good would it do to have Dave Bush as MR/Long relief?

Jays are officially announcing a trade in ~ 10 mins. Probably the Overbay deal, we'll see.

Bluejayway reporting that Mike Wilner says Rios could be part of the deal. Interesting.

If Hillenbrand isn't a part of this deal, what a crowded IF its going to be for now. Hillenbrand/Hill/Hinske/Adams/Hudson/Overbay/Koskie.
2 guys will have to go.
I love this trade though. I never liked Bush very much, and Gross was stuck in purgatory between Syracuse and Toronto.

Man, I hope they don't trade Hudson, but they're probably going to. They better package Hinske with him if they do.

Late night work for JP paying off, pass midnight in the eastern time zone. Gross really didn't have a spot on this team and he's at an age when it's now or never. With Burnett here Bush just doesen't have as much value, good trade if it stands for the Jays!!
Koskie at 3rd Overbay at 1st Hillenbrand DH'ing Hudson at 2nd Adams at short. Hinske will come off the bench, that leaves Hill. I think the Jays will move someone in the infield then, but they only have to move one player.

After Wilkerson traded to the Rangers, there is lots of speculation in Toronto now that Hudson or Hudson/Batista will go to the Rangers for Wilkerson or Wilerson/Mench.

I forgot to bring up John McDonald in the infield one of my personal favorites.
Looks like the trade is done, another top notch move by JP! This is the first Domino in which will prove to be a few more trades. I hope to god the Jays don't trade Orlando Hudson for Kevin Mench. eckkk stupid. Hudson and Batisa for Wilkerson makes me happy. We shall see, so far the Jays have been the most active this offseason.

I love Hudson's defense, but his bat leads much to be desired. If his defense leads other teams to overvalue him, then by all means trade him. We only stand to benefit, especially given how many infielders we already have.

I agree, Hudson's value to many teams seems to be higher then any other infield player on the team. We still need to add another big bat, Hudson might just be guilty of being worth something. I want Wilkerson damnit!! He's a versatile player, can play any of the outfield positions and first base even
