Sure, easier to express an opinion without having to support it that way.
I already have the information without checking Google. First I find out the information, then form a conclusion. Using Google to find the information that supports the conclusion I want, that's doing it wrong.
So, what's the real deal on antarctic ice? We're patiently waiting.
I keep my posts brief at times because I have a job.....so I can't spend all day on CP.
Anyways.........you want some info on the increased sea ice mass in the Antarctic? I will stick with sea ice extent for now, as this is what is relevant to polar bear habitat. I do get some conflicting information on land ice in the Antarctic however.
Yeah, global warming denialists usually stick with the sea ice because that's the one that's increasing.
That's an interesting question, why is the ice increasing even though both the air and water temperature are increasing, one would think warmer would lead to less ice. Warmer leads to more precipitation though, that combined with the melting land ice keeps the cold upper layer of the ocean there from mixing as much with the warmer lower layer (salt water is denser than fresh), one contributing factor anyway. That perfectly illustrates that the things are very complex and nothing can be taken by itself.

I can type in global warming crisis if I believe in global warming and want all this cool data to back me up. I can also type in global warming hoax and I'll get all this cool data to show that all those believers are wasting their time and money.
There's no denying the earth is warming, there's evidence any sane person can't deny, but there's also lots of evidence that the earth has done this before (very recently).
To what extent are we perpetuating it? That's the question, but I don't see the harm in having a clean earth vs. a dirty one. It's much prettier to look at.

While it's true that the earth has had very warm periods in it's history it has never ever shown to warm so fast, what the planet is seeing the last 40 years took thousands of years in the past.

A lot of the evidence around that period involves local warming (i.e. Vikings travelling further north), but a common mistake is to confuse weather with climate.. local temperatures and conditions can vary, but the question is about the globe as a whole. One area can be much warmer while another can be cooler to offset that warming.
Plus they can correlate things like solar output and volcanic activity causing the medieval period to be warm, and see that those things aren't impacting our current warming trend.

So? Just because they have survived previous ones doesn't mean they will survive this one. Species do go extinct after having been around for millions of years.

Because solar irradiance has gone down since 1960 while at the same time the temperature has gone up.
They do know about various cycles of solar radiation and our distance to the sun and tilt of the earth and they take all those things into account when looking at causes and such. They know we're in an interglacial warm period right now. I don't think it's reasonable to think they overlooked such a simple thing.

I could probably find hundreds of links that show the planet is warming faster than ever before. but would you even try to believe them? I think not.
Heres one though. And it took me about 3 seconds to find it.

Scientists know that the earth is warming and most of them acknowledge that it has warmed about one degree in the past hundred years. What many of them find alarming is how quickly that change has occurred. Throughout the planet's history there have been periods of warming and cooling, but the average rate of change has been about one degree per thousand years—so the current global warming appears to be happening ten times faster than ever before
Whoa, I can't read this right now, but it looks like a wealth of information about climate change. The guy's from Calgary. (scroll up for the table of contents)
This shows some pretty steep temperature changes in the not too distant past.
A wealth of information, but just picking a few items at random I see some pretty common incorrect conclusions/misconceptions right off the bat. An AGW denial site.

That's from the "Friends of Science Society," correct? No offense, but that whole "society" is bunk. You shouldn't just believe all of what you see written on the internet. Seriously. This is a huge problem with global warming deniers -- they will see something online, and instead of taking that information and forming an opinion from it, they will use it to support the opinion they've already formed in their head.
The FoSS is a front group, and nothing more. There's lots of good reading material for you at this link:

Exactly, same with the greenhouse gas crowd.
I believe in global warming, I just don't believe it's a man made problem.
