Ted Williams, the Ohio homeless man whose golden voice made him a YouTube sensation and brought him offers of work, was detained by the Los Angeles Police Department Monday night at a Hollywood hotel.
According to law enforcement sources, Williams and a unidentified family member were
detained after police were called to the Renaissance Hotel on a disturbance call.

I don't know what people are going to expect from this guy. There is no such thing as a feel good story, you take a guy who's been living off of the street and suddenly throw him into the lime light, somethings going to happen.

I wish him the best. Cant even begin to imagine how hard it would be to go from where he was a couple weeks ago to where he is now and the transitions one would have to make.

I like to see people getting second chances and I hope he makes the most of his.
However, I'm not holding my breath that he'll be able to sustain this new found success and keep his life on track. Sometimes people can change but most of the time we are who we are. He hit hard times, turned to drugs and abandoned his family. Hopefully he makes amends but there's probably just as good a chance that having more money and more success just makes it easier to pursue his vices.

And into rehab....
Quote:
During a taping of the Dr. Phil Show today in Los Angeles, Ted Williams -- with his family's support -- said he has decided to enter a private rehabilitation treatment facility for his alcohol and drug dependency, a show spokeswoman says.
Williams came to the conclusion following a lengthy one-on-one conversation with Dr. Phil, which will air tomorrow.

While I appreciate the sentimental pull a rags-to-riches story provides, I'm not sure why it shouldn't have been, oh... say instead the sonorious stylings of Grant Farhall going viral.
I'm quite sure Grant loves Mac 'n' Cheese.

Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. He is addicted to booze/drugs. Did you really expect a Cinderella story here?

On the contrary, anyone who has had an addiction, or has a loved one with addiction problems knew this story would not end happily. It's ultimately up to the addict to take accountability for his actions, and get help. Sadly, this does not happen overnight.
