I have heard the proud comments and think that if something isn't done by Spring Training he certainly could be gone but there still is plenty of time to get something done by then. It is best for both sides for him to re-sign so I expect it will happen.

I think that even if he is a FA that there is about a 0.0000000000000001% chance he goes to TO. He will want to win and get a big paycheck and there will be a lot more teams out there that will offer him better chances for both.

Pujols has said that once spring training starts there will be no talks.

Don't forget the Blue Jays are legendary in the Dominican Republic. Who knows, he might feel the Jays in 2012 are ready to contend and he might be a closest Blue Jays fan!

I think of last year when Wells went all out for the amazing catch in Center Field where he broke his toe in the bid for Brandon Morrow's no hitter. Sure he wasn't the same fielder he was in his prime, but VW was still a pretty electric CF and always had the ability to be a game changer defensively. Unfortunately there was no way he was going to live up to that contract on the low-budget jays.

I wish him all the best in Anaheim.

He most likely won't be playing in center field, and although that was a big play at that time in the game, he's rated as one of the game’s worst defensive center fielders last season according to advanced metrics.

The Jays are likely going to sign Vlad because there really is no where else for him to go.

I don't like this trade, but it could be worse.

Increase playing time for the youngsters, adding an arm in the pen and someone to battle for the closer position?

Not sure how I feel about the trade, but this trade definitely adds to our "team toughness".

This trade makes no sense considering our stable of RH relievers already.

Less than a million bucks from what I've read.

I've read several articles in the past week that all have AA saying he is still looking to improve via trading.

What the hell is anthopolous doing here? You've gotta think this was an ownership move and not a gm move. This leaves some pretty big question marks at first/catcher as well as offensively if arrencibia/snider don't have solid years.

I think with this trade they've already decided that Arrencibia is the starting catcher with Molina filling in every 5th day.

Growing pains.

Francisco is a solid reliever. Nothing wrong with deepening the bullpen...was the biggest weak spot last season.

Was looking forward to having Napoli in the lineup though.

Francisco is probably another comp pick next year and stabilizes a shaky looking pen quite a bit plus the salary savings are over 3 million if I'm not mistaken. Not really a part of a long term rebuilding but a good arm. Napoli sucks IMO anyway and is already overpaid so I like this deal, he's like a younger less athletic Hinske.

consider though that if hinske could play catcher he'd probably have an everyday job somewhere so imo napoli isn't too bad....26 HR's last year was tops for catchers in the MLB
