Question Advice on furniture re-upholstering

I bought this antique chair because the fame was good and I really liked the lines. The chair isn't in that great of shape. Likely needs a bit of work on the springs and a new cushion to sit on.

I want to get this chair fixed and re-upholstered with a fabric to match the decor in my house. Any advice on the following:

1) recommendations of where to take it in town?
2) who has the best selection of upholstery?
3) how much will this cost?

Thanks CP

Not really sure who to take it too, not my field but you could try calling Mike at All Pro Finishings. He does all my finish work, he will know who is reputable in town.

Try a place called Tynan's, if I remember correctly, they're on 58 Ave SE, a few blocks off Macleod Trail. Had them do an antique 10 foot couch, they stripped and restained the wood as well as new upholstery, retied the springs and kept the original horsehair and built upon it. Not cheap, I think we dropped about $3000 and this was seven years ago however they do exceptional work.

You are going to be extraordinarily shocked at how freakin expensive re-upholstering is. Absolutely insane. It will definitely cost thousands.

That is discouraging to hear. I have two antique chairs that were my grandpa's that are in rough shape. Was thinking of getting them done this year.
