Default How to kill 5 hours in Pheonix?

We are having a "guys weekend" in Arizona with 12 guys. We arrive at the airport at 2:00pm on Feb 4th and need to kill 5 hours before the suns game. Anyone know of a good bar, or a good way to kill the time before the game? Maybe somewhere close to the stadium? I dunno, I hate planning for 12 other guys. Thanks.

Personally, when I'm down there. I like to head out into the desert. Get on the Superstition and head east. Pretty cool terrain and much different than the Prairies.

Van Buuren for some hookers and blow. If not that then go to the Stadium District downtown and walk around, maybe go to Cooperstown which is right across the street from the U.S. Airways Center.

For nature something head out to Four Peaks:

I would second this idea. There are a couple of places to check out around the US Airways Center, but do go to Cooperstown. Lots of cool things to check out on the wall. Don't look at the menu, but order yourself a "Big Unit".

My favourite standby to kill time is the age old Hookers and Blow, commonly refered to as H&B.

The H&B suggestions have been noted, and I am sure at least half of the guys on the trip would really be happy to indulge. The scenery/nature suggestions probably aren't going to happen with a group of 12 guys that really just want to get a few (or more) drinks before the game. Sounds like this Cooperstown is a good suggestion, we will more than likely check it out.

Cooperstown is on the south side of US Airways. I mention this as you might not find it unless you seek it out. There are a couple other places to throw some beers back on the on the north side of the arena. Former Sun Dan Majerle has a bar/restaurant (called "Nine" I think) on this side of the street, but I haven't personally been there.

Go over to Scottsdale, lots of great bars and restaurants and a bunch of other things of interest, too (unique and interesting shops, Arizona college football hall of fame, mall area, etc.).

There's also a great, authentic Cheesesteak spot (closest I've ever had to the kind you can get in Philly) called Philadelphia Sandwich Company.

Way better than downtown Phoenix though, you must admit.

Go to cooperstown and get a big unit. Do a google image search for cooperstown big unit and you won't be disappointed. This is not a trick.

No doubt! But there are some decent spots downtown too.

If you are looking for somewhere with inexpensive, but tasty food, eat at Carolina's. There is one close to Sky Harbour, too. They have the best Mexican food ever!

I would advise NOT doing an image search ahead of time. Take the risk of ordering it and see what comes to your table!

Not that it's close to the arena; but you do have to check out the Heart Attack Grill.

Really good burgers and fries. And Coke in glass bottles.

If I was goona kill 5 hours in Phoenix, I'd probably get them all coked up first, then since no one cares about them, and presumably no one knows they're with you, it's a simple matter of......oh, wait.....never mind....I think I need to go check the spelling of a word.
