I think the Steelers are a better draw. The Jets are the #2 team in that market and the Steelers are a national team. I don't think anyone likes the jets, although maybe that's why people will watch.

NYC is a Giants town, even if the Jets were to win it all this year they will never be anything but the number two team. I suppose that explains why most Jets fans are such neanderthals, massive complex in that fan base. I've never liked the Jets, but now that I get to be around that fan base I full on hate them. There are a few decent fans, a couple guys I work with are pretty good about it, but the number of jersey shore tools I've seen in Sanchez jerseys running their mouths about every little thing makes me hope the Steelers stomp them. And I really don't like the Steelers.

BTW, it's still Giants stadium Jets fan. It always will be.

The thing I meant with Culter is you still see him make at least 2 or 3 bad choices a game. Seahawks he threw that ball ont he goaline right into the hands of a defender, and then i believe it was a screen pass he put high and just about had it picked off. pack will make you pay for those choices and with a game that should be that close, it would easily decide the game.

I won't disagree with you. I think the Packers have a superior secondary to Chicago, and its tough to argue. Although Chicago has done particularily well when playing press coverage. And if I'm not mistaken, I think Tilman has a history of shutting down Jennings (or Driver) out of the last handfull of games.

However, I think minus the one goal-line, should have been pick Jay Cutler was almost flawless. Now, his win over Seattle pales in comparison to Rodgers over Atlanta, but I think both have the ability to touch up the opposing defense if they have the opportunity.

It comes dowm to this:
If Aaron Rodgers has the chance to take over the game, he will. Plain and simple.

Chicago will lay a very big responsibility on their defense to limit rodgers as much as they can and allow Cutler and Forte to work. It's all they can do. Urlacher and Co. will not shut down Rodgers, its next to impossible, the best they can do is extend his drives to as many 2nd and especially 3rd and longs as they can.

I was listening to one of the ESPN radio guys earlier today and they thought that if the packers and the Steelers meet that it would shatter any previous SB ratings. They were talking a 60 rating...which is unheard of.

Quick question. How many cities with NFL teams have you lived in?

Also, why did you dislike the Jets before this? Which player really irked you? Chad Pennington, Ken O'Brien, Curtis Martin, Wesley Walker, Al Toon, Freeman McNeil? Except for this iteration of the Jets I don't understand how people say the never liked the Jets unless they are Giants, Pats, Colts, Bills, or Dolphins fans...

My understanding of the Giants/Jets is the same as the Yankees/Mets.

The Mets will always be #2 to the Yankees, and sure if the Mets have great success the casual fan will jump on the bandwagon, but day to day, the Mets just don't have the support.

I know this is anecdotal but when I was in new york for about a week, I could probably count on one hand the amount of Mets caps I saw. Although, I never ventured out to Queen's so who knows.

I think the hatred for the Jets would fuel similar #s. Just like the Cowboys get monstrous numbers as 1/3 of the country loves to see them win, while the rest love to see them lose.

All SB's draw big audiences. but they were pretty specific that the GB/Pitt combo would shatter all of them.

I have never really liked the Jets either. Don't "hate" them as others seem to, but I have never had an affinity for the team unless them winning a game helped out someone else i may have been cheering for....and its been that way for 35 years or more. I have never lived in an NFL city either....though I am less that 2 hours away from one. Not sure what that means however.

That's pretty bang on, although Mets fans are generally an extremely self loathing bunch which makes them tolerable. Yankees fans are Yankees fans, they are annoying.

One, unless you count the Lions as an NFL team, which was hard to do at the height of the Matt Millen era.

I'm a Dolphins fan, so that explains my previous hatred of the Jets.

It doesn't have to even be an NFL city any professional sport. The fans you notice most when you move to a city of a team you hate are the most arrogant, annoying ones. Trust me I know there are a lot of normal thinking Cowboys fans and I am friends with a few. But, my hatred for the Cowboys comes from the ones that are dbags and I notice them a lot more.

Bears/Packers game already setting records.

A lot of those tickets are on StubHub, where the average selling price is $722, according to Glenn Lehrman, head of communications. Before last weekend, fans were paying an average price of $400 for the chance to see this historic matchup.

The hype hasn't let down either, he wrote in an e-mail. As of early Tuesday afternoon, the average sale price over a 24-hour span was $825.


"This game is the highest selling non-Super Bowl NFL game in our history, and by the end of the week, will most likely be the fourth-highest selling NFL game ever behind the last three Super Bowls," he wrote

A neat little sidebar/story to the packers/Bears game this week courtesy of Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers in today's presser, mentioned that his younger brother Jordan is also a QB and transferred to Vanderbilt last year. Being a Vanderbilt QB alum, when this occurred Jay Cutler took Jordan under his wing. He taught JR about the city, the football program and the university in general. AR says that because of this, that he and Cutler have become really good friends as Cutler is perfoming as a big brother when Aaron wasnt around.

He also noted that there has been and will be no contact between them this week until after the game. Its still a rivalry afterall and this time for almost all the marbles.

By the way I didn't see it mentioned here, but the cancer patient everyone claims was snubbed by Rodgers came to his defense and said that Rodgers had given her autographs before including a week before the incident and she understood that they don't always have time or the desire to give out autographs.

Packers D Line is biggest in the NFL for a 3-4.

But get a load of Green Bay's defensive line:

Left end Ryan Pickett, 340 pounds.

Nose tackle B.J. Raji, 337 pounds.

Right end Howard Green, 340 pounds.

That's 1,017 pounds up front - the largest 3-4 defensive line in the NFL.

Yikes... interesting read...and at the end what their diets consist of.
