Crosby squats. Hell, every single NHL player squats. Why? Because its such a versatile exercise. So many different sets and reps with different weights to attack your body a variety of different ways. Its laughable at best to suggest that a squat doesn't develop fast twitch muscle fibers. Pretty sure its the other way around.
Eating 4500 calories per day for an active person who works out like this isn't that crazy. Iginla is probably extremely active beyond the 2 hours per day that he works out. Notice he talks about playing a lot of other sports, like tennis and baseball, and probably skating a lot. Makes for a lot of calories being burnt.
I find it extremely interesting that he gets the majority of his carbs through fruits. People say bagels, people say eat some cereal, get the whole wheat food in for energy, without paying much attention to fruit.
