Mother Tucker's

I was reading in the Herald today that Mother Tucker's is shutting down. I did hear that previously - but I was wondering if anyone knows what they are turning it into? We're always looking for new less expensive places to take clients for lunch downtown, so I'm hoping for something like that ...

We were there right before the new year and we were talking to the waitress about it, supposedly there is an upscale taphouse/pub going in there. I cant remember the parent company at the moment, lousy brain.

Horrible news! Going to that place as a kid was awesome. Plus, no other restaurant in this city sounds dangerously close to "Motherf***ers"

I read in a Herald article that the new owners are turning it into a Resto-lounge.

Oh, well regardless, its a terrible location either way. Its a pain to get there since you either have to go all the way through Gulf Canada and down through the parkade, or walk up to 5th Street underpass and then back down past 4th Street to get there.

There's a reason its all junk restaurants in that block.

When I first lived here as a 4 year old, I was there for dinner and whinned all dinner beacuse I wanted another Roy Rogers drink. well I got it but under the stipulation I was to finish the entire thing.

Once I finished my 2nd roy rogers drink I proceeded to throw up all over the table!! Ah memories!!

It was ironic that 20 years later when I moved to Calgary again I left the bar (the drink) and threw up right outside Mother Tuckers
