Cage the Elephant : January 11 (heard "Around my head" good song!)
White Lies : January 17 (heard "Bigger than us" can't wait for this one!)
The Strokes : sometime in March
The Naked & Famous : looking forward to a 2011 release? Best thing to come out of New Zealand in....forever. Check out Punching in a dream and Young Blood. New band I heard today called "The Suuns" and they toured with Besnard Lakes and Land of Talk. Free EP out "Zeros" to check them out. Good CDN band! Also REM is giving away Discoverer which is a pretty decent song. Take the free stuff when you can get it as 2011 is looking like an expensive year.

Flaming Lips to release a new song every month:

http://pitchfork.com/news/41080-flam...s-every-month/

Wayne Coyne tells Rolling Stone that the band hopes to release a new song every month in 2011. According to Coyne, the process of creating a whole new album the traditional way seemed daunting, and the song-a-month system represents a more exciting way of getting their music out into the world.

It`s a very good album. Got to Move, Long Time, Easy to Crash, are songs that have just stuck with me so far.

Bit of self advertising....

My band, Dwayne, just released our first album on Jan 7th. We're fairly new, but we are getting very very good reviews from everyone who has seen us play. It's available on itunes and amazon. Should be selling a physical copy at gigs soon as well.

Take a listen to our myspace, and follow us on facebook to know when/where we're playing our next gig.

I will do my best not to spam this forum with my shameless self advertising in the future...

Dwayne? Is it like the Ramones, where you all have the last name Dwayne? Wayne Dwayne. Duane Dwayne. Lane Dwayne. Dane Dwayne. Brain Dwayne.

I wish it were. Unfortunately there is no real clever reason behind the name.... no idea how it came to be to be honest.

Man, can't anybody think of an original song title with "Alberta" in it? I count at least three songs with the same name, different lyrics, done by different artists (Ian Tyson, Paul Brandt, Bryan Adams).

Dr. Dre's new album is coming out.......April 20th. Of course it is.

Wasn't too thrilled by the first single, hopefully there's some better stuff on the album.
