It's either going to be Auburn in a squeaker, or Oregon in a rout. I'm hoping for Oregon in a rout. Auburn has a history of slow starts, and coming from behind. Oregon has a history of completely shutting their opponents down late. If Auburn follows their typical pattern, they could find themselves in a hole too deep to get out of. That said, they also have more experience in close games, and I think they've got the experience to pull out a close game.

I really have no idea who to pick, or who to cheer for. I'm grasping at straws on who to/not to cheer for. On one hand, I think some funny business went on with Newton, and wonder about things there, but on the other I'm not a Nike fan and Oregon just seems to be a Nike marketing ploy with all their costumes.
Hopefully this is a classic game.

pretty sloppy so far. Two drives ending in punts, three ending in interceptions.

Anything but thus far. Just awful football for what are supposed to be the two best teams in the country.
These 4-5-6 week layoffs between games is just ridiculous and its showing tonight in a huge way.

At least the score's still close. We could be in for a dynamite second half.

It'd be great if the Chairman of the BCS committe along with the head of the coaches and press polls, would come out on national TV, talking to each of the teams, at halftime and declare that if neither team picks it up and looks like a national champion during the rest of the game, that the #3 team will be considered for the title.

I used to like when all the Bowl games were on New Years day. I agree that this long of a layoff is a too much.

Oregon is lucky to be within a score given what's happened so far. They really need to strike soon (or at least get some positive momentum) before Auburn starts to pull away.
edit: that stop really hurts. Great play by the Auburn defense.

Auburn looks decent, but not great by any means. Both teams have had some flashes, but to be honest, TCU almost deserves a share. They looked the best of any of the 3 (soon to be 2) undefeated teams.

Yup, as of right now TCU has a huge argument to hold at least a share of the National Championship.
To me this once again shows that the system is a little broken, there should be no questions at the end of the season to who the champion is.

Is it just me or does it seem like their is a whole lot of holding going on but rarely getting called?

The funny thing is that if these two teams had been playing games at some point over the last 6 or 7 weeks they have been off...they would probably be a whole lot sharper and look a whole lot more like they did during the "every game means something" regular season.
Its so blatantly obvious the system stinks and is so out of touch with reality...but dont worry...we still have tradition afterall!!(because what says tradition like a team from texas winning the Rose Bowl)
And for all you BCS defenders...that last part was tongue in cheek, so don't blow a gasket.

Actually I think that is probably the biggest problem with the system (even moreso then a lack of playoff and no clear #1).
No teams should have to take a month off from games, and still be expected to be on their A game and not have any rust.
For two offensive teams this is even more obvious because you can see that the timing and flow that these offenses usually have is just a little off.

37 days for both teams.
IIRC Ohio St. a couple years back had 50 days between games.
It really is absurd.

Wouldn't you want that to be a touchdown? The kicker isn't going to miss a 19 yarder.

Man I want this kicker to miss so bad because I hate Auburn, but I would fear for his life.
EDIT: Dammit
