Nets, Lakers, Rockets are in advanced talks on 3-way deal sending T. WIlliams to HOU, S. Vujacic and a future HOU 1st to NJ. Also included in deal, Nets' Joe Smith goes to LA and Lakers send 2011 1st rounder to NJ. Also, HOU sends NJ a '12 1st pick..
Looks like the Nets are lining up 1st round picks for a run at Carmelo - this deal was confirmed by The Machine after tonight's Laker game - deal cannot be announced until tomorrow as Smith cannot be traded before Dec 15

The 8th place team in the West is below 0.500 this year. Weird.

Vince Carter traded to Phoenix, along with Gortat, Pietrus, and a 1st round pick.
Richardson, Turkoglu, and Earl Clark heading to Orlando.
Also a rumoured Rashard Lewis for Gilbert Arenas swap.

It's funny how far Vince Carter fell off the radar since he left Toronto. Carter used to be bigger than Kobe; now he is just a bad contract being moved from one team to another.
How the mighty fall...
Okay deals for the Magic I guess, but these type of deals happen all the time, and still don't make a difference. I'd still say the Heat, and probably the Celtics are the better competition.

Yea, Carter was basically screwed due to injuries. He showed promise with every new team he joined, but then a couple minor injuries and it seemed like he had no motivation left in him. His contract is actually a good one now, since it expires at the end of this season. Pietrus' contract also expires, although he has a player option for one extra year. Then there's Gortat, who's a starting center with a cheap contract for a couple more years. Gortat could be the player with the most improvement in the trade.
The Suns got an awesome deal, which should make their rebuild a lot easier. It'll be interesting to see if Nash is moved as well or maybe the Suns are just looking for the cap space to make a big signing and try and contend next year again. They're in a really similar situation to the Flames, with an aging superstar and face of the franchise, but with a team that's not good enough to contend.
As for the rest of it, I think Arenas is playing really well this season, so he should really help at the 1 for Orlando. Jameer Nelson is just not as good after his surgery. Plus, the Magic get rid of the awful contract that is Rashard Lewis, he's the second highest player next to Kobe this year The Magic also pick up Jason Richardson (a better, less injury prone Vince Carter) and Hedo Turkoglu (similar to Rashard Lewis, also struggling, bad contract but not as bad as Lewis).
On the Wizards side, they dumped the worst PR disaster to hit the team ever. Plus, they got John Wall for a reason, there was no room for two star PG's. Arenas was also signed on long term, so they had to dump him and got Rashard's contract back, which is only half the length of Arenas'.
I think Washington definitely got the short end of the trade, but they were very lucky to find someone to take Arenas. Orlando got much of the same back, possibly a better replacement for Vince. The Suns have basically acknowledged that this is not their year and they now have some nice cap space in the off season to retool for next year.

Larry Brown fired again. Not surprising, given that he admitted the team had quit on him. But the blame for the season is definitely on Jordan; you look at the season Chandler is having in Dallas and the way Felton is playing in New York, and then consider the players Jordan brought in to fill in the roster (Kwame Brown?). I really think he's the worst GM in the league.

it's not really the same situation though. chandler in dallas doesn't extrapolate to chandler in charlotte. different system, coach, players, role. same with felton. also letting opening a spot for more minutes to develop augustin is smart imo and he has rebounded. also chandler hasn't done that spectacular in dallas and they got cap room with dampier buy out. everybody knows kwame is kwame which is why MJ only gave a 1 year contract. if he signed kwame for more than that i'd say he's the worse GM lol

God I hope the rumors that the Hawks are trying to get Nash are true. With Steve Nash they are a title contender as long as they dont give up Johnson, Smith, Crawford or Horford to get him which I don't think they would have to anyways. Something like Bibby's contract, Marvin Williams and a pick, maybe Jordan Crawford or Jeff Teague (although I like Teague).

Nash dumps his wife one day after she gives birth and now wants his pre-nup honored so he doesn't have to pay spousal support.

God I hate Lebron and the Heat. Lebrons pre-game quote, "I don't think it's a measuring stick for us," James said. "It's just another game." Does the guy hate any sort of pressure or what. Of course it is a measuring stick, you are playing the defending champions.
Fisher is talking about how it is a big game for both sides. Jeez I hate the Heat and since I'm a Laker fan I especially want them to lose today but regardless I hope ANYONE in the nba beats those losers.

Overall I don't mind the Magic, but Turkoglu can eat it.
And go Lakers.

I'm really surprised the Heat beat the Lakers by so much. The Lakers D was horrible!

On the side: if Blake Griffin keeps playing the way he does, I'll be surprised if he doesn't make the all-star game.

I'm pretty sure I could run the "I Hate The Miami Heat" Fan Club but dear god is this team ever looking good. Lebron, Wade and Bosh combined for just under 100 points tonight. Next highest output on the team was J. Jones with 5 pts.
Incredible
