I'm all for benefits of the doubts but god damn, I don't understand how people like you defend cops' actions unconditionally. Why are you trying to defend this cop anyways? What compels you to believe that cops can do no wrong? Do you truly not think the cop could have handled it better?
I would hate to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and be mistaken for a criminal and get kicked in the face 'cus I looked "threatening".
With that said, I believe that the majority of the cops are good people but like in any professions, there are bad apples.
Why don't you try to find something I posted where I said the kick was the right thing to do? It looks to me like he just booted the guy in the face.
No, I don't. The CTV video is much more clear than the OPs video. It looks like a pretty good kick to the face.
I am trying not to defend the kick to the face, but there are assorted issues that are unknown in this. I don't think a kick is the right way to go, but if you want to start firing a gun when you are not supposed to, be prepared for a rough take down.
Maybe you are...I was watching the video that was in the op, the CTV video is much more clear.
I dunno man, I watched the OP video and saw a pretty clear kick to the face. The only things the second video added were the post incident footage and the fact that it was all raw audio from the incident itself.

I should also add that there were several witnesses who did witness the incident and said that the man seemed to be complying completely. I don't know why several different people would say the same thing if it wasn't true. I can understand that we don't know exactly what was said to the officer, and neither do the witnesses. However, as pointed out earlier, that shouldn't matter. There is simply no justification for kicking that man in the face, especially considering the position he was in when he took the boot.

Stupid cops, when are they going to realise there is a video camera in basicly everyones hands these days.
The only thing new about these cases is they are now getting caught.
I can guarantee you the majority of cops realize they're being recorded 24/7...unfortunately, you never see the 99.9999999999% of videos where people are hoping to catch something and nothing happens (or heaven forbid, the police do something right).
And in regards to the video, definitely not the ideal way to deal with that whole situation (even besides the boot to the face).

Well after 4 days in jail they let him out. Now the police are saying it was a domestic dispute. The victim and his wife have no idea where this came from.
They already tried the "dis-grunted" employee story but that didn't stick. In this video you can here a cop telling another about the dis-grunted employee, not a domestic dispute, so good luck selling this new story.
There are some still shots of the cops talking to him before the video starts, one showing the male cop talking to him at the end of a nickel plated (so Hollywood, this guy is cool) pistol through the open window.
I'm sure Buddy was explaining that it was part of his job to scare the geese away and that he had a permit to do so. I assume he also mentioned he was unarmed and his shotgun was in the back with a trigger lock on, as you can see in the video.
The lady cop was at the passenger side window. (you can see her feet) Hollywood has Buddy at point blank range, with other sirens close by.
I really can't believe people are defending this cop's actions.
The cop that murdered that handcuffed guy in Houston BC went on paid leave for years, maybe still is collecting his wages ?
I think it's about time these unprovoked attacks stop, and the cops get punished appropriately, ie: jail time.
In this video you can hear the contact, this was a brutal unprovoked kick.

It RGMG when people are always bashing cops (like the G20 stuff earlier in the year). But in this case, the cop here is 100% in the wrong. Even if they didn't have all the info and thought the guy was just a crazy guy with a rifle, he was still completely complying with what the cops were saying, and was getting down on the ground slowly and peacefully. There was absolutely zero reason to kick him in the face there. In the interview that cop struck me as ######bag too. Nice Hollywood cop stubble, get over yourself.
It appears the officer used excessive force. Any type of kick/hit like that to the head especially with steel toed boots is essentially deadly force.
What I don't understand is if this guy was considered so dangerous why wasn't a high risk take down done on him? He should have been ordered out of the vehicle and commanded into a prone position while both officers where behind cover of their vehicle with their firearms drawn.
There would be no way in hell that I would run into that situation before the guy is completely proned out especially when the call involved the discharge of firearms.
Cst. Ira MaCumber was completely justified in his actions, Deng Kuol stabbed a police officer with a knife in a close physical confrontation, the fact that he was shot should come as no surprise to anyone. Not saying that the police are right 100% of the time, but in this situation I have no problem in saying that MaCumber was in the right.
Also the guy in San Francisco wasn't wheelchair bound, he was in a wheelchair but he was in obvious use of his legs during the time in which he was shot, so it isn't like they shot a paraplegic who was trying to put peanut butter on toast.

Those are the pistols the RCMP are issued. It has nothing to do with him trying to be cool.
That said, he seems to be in the wrong and seems like a complete ######.

^^ Because they had a lengthly conversation before the video started. (at point blank range)
The cop knew he wasn't a risk, which makes it even more disgusting.
A police officer never knows he is not at risk, there is only unknown risk.
Again, my point is if they were pulling over a person that was believe to be in possession of a firearm that was just being discharged, they never should have approached the vehicle until the subject was proned out. IMO.
