Executive VP of football operations. Elway will be the GM's boss.
This makes complete sense. Bowlen, when he fired Shanahan, lost the 'right hand man' scenario that he had since buying the team. Elway is basically going to replace Shanahan and will be Bowlen's person he can trust.
If they've got Harbaugh in their sights, they must be keeping Xanders on as GM.

Im hoping the Packers annihilate the Bears and win going away...unfortunately I dont believe it happens that way. Tough tight game and if the Packers contain hester at least a little bit and dont lose the field position battle, they win. Otherwise could be some serious heartbreak among us cheeseheads.

Nerve wracking day, first to see if the pick'em pool I've made up 8 games in, trailing by one, will come through, especially with many meaningless games and teams playing backups.
Then, the game tonight. When this close to the playoffs, no matter the situation or division, it always means the difference between a below average season and a good one, especially for SEA which has had a rough couple years.
That said, a loss and SEA gets possibly a top 10-12 draft pick, depending on other games...so they can draft that higher end QB and start the Hasselbeck succession plan in earnest.

Come on Panthers, at least play with SOME pride. If this Atl/Car game starts getting more out of hand, the Saints should start resting more regulars. TE Graham and Malcolm Jenkins have already come up limping today.

Well it appears as if the Dolphin players may be nudging ownership to get them a new coach. Not that they were going to do much against New England, but a real no show today.
The Chiefs offensive starters took it upon themselves to rest up in the first half as the Raiders absolutely torture the Chiefs in the first half....yuck.
Pittsburgh will win the #2 seed as I don't think theres anyway Cleveland is coming back from a 28 point deficit.
Tampa is giving New Orleans a pretty good game, they still need the Giants and Packers to lose, but I remember in 2006 when the Chiefs needed a lot of help on the last day of the season as they were pretty much last in line for a playoff spot and everything they needed happened.

I'll add Eric Mangini to the list of coaches likely to find himself looking for a new job this coming week. Browns had a bit of a surge mid season, but have really fizzled out these past copule games. I suspect Holmgren will come back down onto the field since he's already employed and with the unknowns on the labour front.

I tell you I really like Josh Freeman and this young Tampa Bay Buccaneers team. These guys are going to be something to be reckoned with the next few years. Carolina better hire someone pretty sharp because I think New Orleans, Atlanta, and Tampa are going to be very strong teams for at least the next 5 years. Move over overhyped NFC East, the NFC South is the best Division in the NFC and is going to be so for the forseeable future.

What a disappointment for the Raiders. To clearly be the best team in the AFC West and have to watch the Chiefs in the playoffs. I knew weeks ago the Raiders would win this game because the Raiders are the better football team. It just goes to show how important coaching is. Raiders have one of the worst head coaches in the league, an up and coming OC, an old re-tread DC while the Chiefs have an all-star coaching staff. Clearly the difference as even in victory today the Raiders will accomplish a top five all-time accumulation of penalties for a season. Unacceptable and hopefully Al doesn't bring back Cable.

So the Bucs, assuming they win, would need both the Packers and the Giants to lose?

I don't think Cable is back, and I saw Schefter say the same thing
Think Hue Jackson either gets promoted, or Al brings in Harbaugh (who he knows quite well)
I would love either of those

Pretty sure Harbaugh will take the Denver job before the Raiders job. My money is on Jackson being promoted and I would be fine with that as the offense went from bottom of the league to top 10 despite all 1st or 2nd year receivers.

I don't think Harbaugh goes to Denver
I think its Michigan (big favorite), Oakland, SF in that order of probability

Bad call on Peppers for roughing the passer. The refs are missing some pretty critical things out there

The Bears are blowing it on the road.
Cutler seems to be a split second behind the rest of the offense.
